That stainless nimrod on page 1 is outstanding. I love the ss guns. I just took receipt of that stainless nimrod’s twin. I got different sights on the new one…. Dang! Do you need a favorite nephew to share with? LOL. If you ever want to sell one.....

How do you guys with your blue custom`s keep them looking so good?? I remember talking with John Gallagher (God rest his soul) about a blue 475 he made me and how fast blue guns can show rust in Alaskan type climates and he suggested two coats of a good paste wax like Renaissance. First coat polished in and second coat just smeared on. The cylinder on my 475 was showing pre-pit spots (may have been blood??) and blue wear and I had re-blued.... Here`s 475 on boar hunt....

James, that cold climate up there makes for some wooly pigs,…..reminds me of the European boars I shared the woods with growing up. They do look much nicer than the scraggly sparsely haired ones we predominantly have here in Texas. Blood for me seems to be the biggest issue on blued guns, but sweat, and humidity play a big role here as well. I’ve only got 2 blued guns that get used for hunting a lot, my Gallagher 500Max and an old 3 screw 44mag. They get babied when taken afield, I keep a chamois square soaked with oil/grease to wipe down at end of day. A little 5”x5” square folds nicely into an old plastic film canister and takes no room in a pack.

Hamilton mentioned we probably need to get a new stencil for my .50 Spl. Can you snap a picture so I can see what you mean on the new smaller lettering when you have time?

Just to keep this one going.... .327 Federal Nimrodito on a Single Six. This one may be headed down the road soon as I've got it covered with another... King O'De Nimrods.... Bowen Best Grade #011 in 500 Linebaugh! Let's see some more!!! These two are some damn fine looking revolvers. The black gripped one is especially striking. Is it micarta? I love the dark look with the case hardened receiver and blued finish elsewhere. What distinguished the Bowen’s finest from the other Nimrods, btw?

He describes the Best work in his book.
