Lovely and practical! I own an early Linebaugh 6 shot .45 Colt Bisley that is one of my favorites. I agree with you about the .45 being a good choice for shooting a lot, while still being hunting capable.

Beautiful, practical revolver, presented in good photos. Did John fashion the octagon from a Pac-Nor 1:16” twist? Excellent job on grip frame & scales. Rather expect by now John is using some Ronnie Wells grip frames. I plugged Ronnie’s grip frame work to John; come to fine out, they met a long time ago.
Good looking skin from Doc, also. David Bradshaw

While I love my FA guns, blue steel is just in another class....beyond stunning...

Awesome build! It’s nice to see a custom with sights that match the remainder of the build. Just curious about the decision to go 6-shot in lieu of five. Thoughts from the OP?

I AM NOT SPEAKING FOR KEVSHELL JUST RELAYING MY CURRENT THOUGHT ON 5 SHOT vs 6 SHOT 45 COLT CYLINDERS IN RUGER REVOLVERS. I HAVE SOME TIGHTLY CHAMBERED 6 SHOT RUGERS, A COUPLE OF SINGLE ACTIONS BY JRH AND A REDHAWK CONVERSION BY LINEBAUGH, AND A CUSTOM 5 SHOT BISLEY BY BRAD SHERMAN AND A CUSTOM 5 SHOT REDHAWK BY BOWEN. AT 77 I FIND THAT I CAN DO ALL OR MOST OF WHAT I WANT TO DO NOWADAYS IN A 45 COLT IN A TIGHT CHAMBERED 6 SHOT RUGER. THE 5 SHOTS GIVE YOU ROOM TO EXPLORE BUT "ATOMIC" LOADS IN THE 45 COLT ARE NOT FOR EVERYDAY USE. IF I WERE TO COMMISSION A NEW 45 COLT CUSTOM BISLEY I BELIEVE I WOULD GO WITH AN OVERSIZED 6 SHOT CYLINDER.

A great pair, and combination. I’ve got the same pair but started with a 3.75” 45LC and then had JRH make me an octagon 500L 4”. They are my favorites for carrying afield, and very useful. You’ll like the utility of the pair. Nicely done.

The oversized six shot makes a lot of sense in 45 Colt and smaller cartridges.
Wall thickness is increased considerably and chambers are nearly as large as the 475s and 50s.

The gun right there is about as classic a big bore as you can find. I love it!I know what you mean when you say John's guns are "handed". When I sent my 475 back to him to fit the brass grip frame we were going to have Dustin do the grips but his work load and backlog was too great. John called me and asked if I would let him do the grips. He said he had not built grips in quite a while but if I would trust him to build mine, he would take that part of the job on as well. What are you going to do? Tell John Linebaugh "No John, I don't want you to make a set of French walnut grips for my 475 you built?" Of course not, you say go for it and thanks for taking it on! He did not disappoint with the grips nor the brass grip frame modification. Sometimes you just get out of the way and let the artist do their thing.

Very classy gun, congratulations!!! Front Sight sure looks familiar too... I like that front sight a lot. The 500 sold me on it and I wanted it again.

David Bradshaw Thank you sir. I actually thought it was another barrel brand but it was not what I thought nor a Pac-Nor. It is a Wilson barrel. And I'm not sure who made the frame. I do know he's been working on getting the grip frames the way he wants them and to his standard for a while. Some did not meet his QC standards (I don't believe these were Ronnie's). And that partly what I appreciate is that he obsesses over details. He shared how he rejects parts if they are not meeting his standards. Grip frames, barrels, etc. I personally saw where he had slugged barrels to find tight spots and where the barrel was loose. I wanted a practical but sophisticated revolver and I feel he hit the mark for me.
