Talked with my travel agent yesterday who is very experienced & she said we will just stand by for a while & see if this thing cools down a bit. No sense going over there will all this crazy stuff going on so we'll just wait a bit, not suppose to go until about August 18th anyway. I I have a neighbor over there right now who is bowhunting, I know he's taken at couple of animals so far but that's really all I know. Hopefully we hear something from him today. Trying to decide how to divide up the 8 animals between my 2 guns, hasn't been easy but it's fun! Yesterday I tried some of my 210 gr 41 HP's on 3 water jugs & it went through all 3 & left some big pieces of lead in the 3rd jug on the way out. This is at about 1150 fps. Figured I might use it on Impala, Blesbok, 2 different kinds & maybe a Baboon. Or I can take some 230 gr solids or 250 gr HP's. Still tinkering. Shot the plate rack at 50 ys from the sitting position using the Barranti/Sixshot Sling but it's almost cheating, you never miss. Dick

When I first went to Ecuador to visit the inlaws, I read up on the US State Dept webpage about warnings and advisories.
In Ecuador, they have a problem with Sequestro Express, or Express Kidnapping. You get into a taxi and they drive you into an alley were accomplices are waiting so they can rob you. Sometimes they drive you around to multiple ATM's until your cards no longer work, then they usually drop you out in the boondocks and drive away. Usually.
Always best to use a service that you know and trust. Even gov't personnel are forbidden from hailing taxis from the street.

Yes Doc Barranti does sell them & they work great, I'll be taking & using mine for sure. Hope to be using it in a few days on a depredation deer hunt that I usually get. If so I'll use the FA 41 magnum & most likely a 250 gr cast HP just to field test it. These Barranti rests are awesome, only weigh a few ounces, fit in your pocket & you simply sit on the ground with your back to a tree or sit in your blind, etc & wrap it around your knees with the straps already adjusted & rest the gun on the little "saddle" & make the shot. Bingo!! Flaring your knees out puts the tension on the straps & draws them tight.

Just ordered one! Hopefully fingers crossed that I’ll have a bisley 10” inch 41 mag with sling swivels ( got my Doc Barranti sling already) completed by Reeder by this fall! All things that my hunting license will allow me to harvest should take note!
