As far as Factory jacketed go, the Sierra FPJM 220’s ( full profile jacketed match??) bullets are superbly accurate, and penetration is awesome. They do not expand.

…….Or, there is one other way...gulp! Use a jacketed bullet, and they did shoot awesome!……,, Dick Dick, My FA 654 loves jacketed bullets! Two that I shoot in mine are the Barnes 180 XPB and the Speer 210 Deep Curl. Both work superbly on medium sized game. If you decide to go the copper route, the Deep Curl would be worth a look.

Beautiful gun and I can't wait to hear how it does in Africa, but I was hoping your second gun was going to be the Ruger 357 Maximum. I'd really like to have heard how it performed on plains game.

Actually the 357 Maximum was going to be my second gun, have it all ready to go but I've lived my whole adult life with a 41 magnum close by & in the end I just couldn't go without one. I've taken a lot of game with the Maximum & I wanted to give it a little "nudge" in Africa but unless I hear different tomorrow I'll only be taking 2 revolvers instead of 3. It's probably been around 15 years ago that I killed something with a jacketed bullet, shot a cow elk with my Super Redhawk 44 using a Speer 270 gr Gold Dot, one shot & a pass through. Have nothing against a jacketed bullet on this trip but I don't think a guy could find one, could be wrong. I know the bullets all of you mention are proven on big game. And Kim, very nice animals & photo's!!!

Dick, cast bullets are what you do.
I don’t think you have a choice.
Any time I’ve been dialed in with my pistol but decided to take the shot with a rifle instead, I’ve regretted it.

Well I don't own any rifles so that won't be a problem. And I don't have any jacketed bullets so that's solved also, except for about a dozen 41 XTP's I have from my late buddies estate & like I said & showed in the photo, they shot great. Actually I just remembered, I also have a box of the Sierra 170 gr bullets, that's a bullet I've heard a lot about & never fired one in 50 years. Got these from my late buddy also, still unopened.

WOW...NICE gun Dick...am glad you you were able to score a .41 before you head off...
Not sure you need to, but you can probably bump that load of H110 up 1-2 more grains. I'm running a 300 with 19.0 grains and is running 1260 from a 6". Have a MP TruShot clone that is in the 270s and running that with 21.0.
If you want some 300s I'll send you some or the mold...
