As far as I am concerned a guy can express any opinion like that he wants! If someone gets their nose pushed out of shape by ad innocuous a comment as that then that is their problem. It is like my Quest gun list. There are folks that I did not include for my own personal reasons and that is no bodies business but mine. Same on a statement like you made I say.

Ronnie, do you foresee Turnbull’s having any issues with their CCH with these hammers? I have the greatest respect for Bobby Tyler and his shop’s abilities, but I much prefer Turnbull’s CCH, (as do a lot of folks). I would think such would be old hat for them, but I figured I’d check with you to be sure. Just had someone suggest to me that I should not have expressed my “preference” for Turnbulls, over Bobby Tyler’s CCH here on the forum, as I might hurt some feelings no matter how how tactful I might have been about it. Well, I don’t really don’t know how to respond to that. I sure did not mean to hurt anyone’s feelings, bottom line, or anything else. I just like what I like, as does everyone else around here. If my comment was somehow out of line, I apologize, and I’ll try keep my opinions about such things to myself, and try not to “step in it” anymore. Looked like you merely stated your preference while still showing Tyler respect to me. If you having a different view than somebody else hurts their feelings, then they can just take their toys and go home to cry.

Everyone has their own preferences as far as aesthetics. Your comment was very straightforward and tactful, and I’m sure many were thinking the same thing. It’s not a knock on anyone’s work. Bobby Taylor is someone who is putting a lot of work into establishing himself and that’s awesome. He does a lot of great stuff. We need him and guys like him coming up. But the very fact that his cch doesn’t look exactly like Turnbull’s means of course some are going to prefer one over the other. I’m in the same boat, I can’t think of any cch that that I have seen where I thought “man that might be even better than turnbull”, and had it not turn out to be… Turnbull 😂. Ronnie seems to be really down to earth. I think he can understand how excited people are over what he is doing, and how much we appreciate it, and how, due largely to that excitement, many will want to have their own favorite smiths give it their final touch.

Absolutely. Your statement was direct , to the point and very Tactfull. I myself have very thick skin. I will now make a statement that could draw controversy easily. But to be perfectly honest and politically correct. i DONT GIVE AN OBESE RODENTS BEHIND! HAHAHAHA. I HAVE NO EGO TO BRUISE!. I have lived in 60 years , more life than most could possibly live in three life times. Just look at the amount of everything i am trying to build for you guys and myself included. I cant make up my mind what i truly like because, I LIKE IT ALL, AND EVERYONES STUFF. i HAVE A MILLION OPINIONS AND THEY CHANGE CONTINUALLY. No one is doing this and that is just not enough. I have my own couple of processes for CCH ing. And i just love Turnbulls color. Isnt it just Bitchin? The purples and blues he is able to bring out is just Phenominal. I love his stuff. Bobby has a process down that works very well without de tempering. Hell we (Bobby T) were just talking this morning about mimicking his colors ( Turnbull). My goal here is to offer a product that will cover all grounds and be workable wiith everyones process. And a call to mr Turnbull and a couple of spares are going to him to see if we have a material that he can work with. Because so many love his work and have a relationship with him. I myself as well as Bobby would like that as well. Bobby Tyler is a STUD of the first order, you will not hurt his feelings. That man handles more guns in one day than many have ever held. We need educated opinions and we need to discuss them regularly. That is what Makes America so Great Jack. So go on with yo bad self man. I need that type of feedback. So i can make you the most Badass stuff ever. So let her eat Single action. You know what you like and so do i now! Thanks Buddy. Ronald Dean Wells

Happy Thanksgiving Gentlemen. Hope this post finds you all well. Progress , Progress , Progress! Just relentless pursuit of Hammer and trigger perfection here at the RW spread. All the old models are now produceable and completely bugged out for just about anything that could go wrong with fitment. Lots of playing with the blueing solutions and finish has yeilded some really nice results. So that we completely understand each other here, all of you ordered randomly and i need to follow the list as the preorders came in however i still have a little work to do on the New Models. Not much but enough to make things a little dicey when it comes to following the list in order. So an explanation i beleive is neccasary so we dont offend . We are going to start shipping old models and Old Army stuff NOW! And i will finish up the New Models on the fly here this month. we have our packaging figured out and the Bolt trip Plungers are ready to install. Now i havent shown you the OLD Army stuff yet so here goes. Hope you enjoy. By the way, i thought the Standard old model Hammers were a booger bear, Sheeeeesh. These were a handfull to get right (old armys). So with out further adieu. The Old army stainless Bisley Fat Back Hammer.

The ROA With a Standard Ruger stainless Bisley grip frame, a Conversion Trigger And some really nice Tiger maple panels thrown together to show off. Also Notice the sides are cleared .008 thou to prevent colision with the main frame so they stay pretty and dont look like a cat that got drug over the pavement after 3 shots. Plenty of room between the spur and grip frame when cocked.

Next is my personall fave. The Super Blakhawk wide spur Fat back for use with a bisley style backstrap. Right at a half inch wide and sweeping to the end. Ole tator judge nudged me to lay the serations a smidge forward and i found it to even look nicer and grab the thumb like a Booger Bear. Good Idea Doctor Bruno. Even more room from the spur to the Backstrap.

Oh Ya. Forgot to show yall this. I have heard that sometimes you northern boys have a little trouble with heavy primer ignition when it get a little frosty outside. Here is a super blackHawk Spur with a fat back we call standard, along side the SBH Fat Smack. It has exactly one quarter more ounce of material in the recipricating mass zone of the hammer than the standard SBH. The standard is on the left and the Fat Smack is on the right. Notice the thickness of the spurs from top to bottom and the thickness at the breach end at the top of the hammer. You can definately tell the difference when this mammy slaps the firing pin. It even sounds different. And ofcourse one for the conventional grip frame. Standard on the right of this pic, and the Fat Smack on the left. I havent made a fat smack for the old army because it already has a lot more material at the top and of the 5 i have to play with here, they all have a main hammer coil spring that looks like it came off the front end of a 68 Buick electra 225. hahahaha.

That fat smack would be comforting to have on a dangerous game gun, IMHO.
