I wonder if they will do away with that safety button...

I wonder if they will do away with that safety button... I prefer the tang safety and have to give Winchester credit on that one. Sadly, I seriously doubt we'll see that change or doing away with the cross bolt safety.

I replaced all of mine. I bought a handful from Beartooth. Made my 1894s in 218 Bee, 25-20 and 32-20 into "Saddle Ring Carbines." I just can't seem to help myself.

I surely hope Ruger does good things with Marlin. I grew up on Marlin .22s & all but one of my non-AR long guns is a Marlin, from .22 to .45-70.

Remington, did something i thought really sucked a few years back. The made a deal with the Yugo , company that made the interams mark ten, they signed them to a deal as exclusive importers , and started the model 798 program. And then they never placed a second order, leaving the Yugo company with no way to import products to the US, Poor business on both ends < but only one of the companies is still around , he who laughs last !...tj

I wonder if they will do away with that safety button... I just place a Rubber O Ring over mine. Look's good and is a simple fix.

I wonder if they will do away with that safety button... NO!! The bottom line is lawyers rule. So many manufacturers have had to pay millions of dollars to those who shouldn't have had a gun in the first place.

It is my understanding that when Cerberus bought Marlin & dumped it into Remington's lap, along with the loan, that Remington soon found that Marlins machinery was worn out & they couldn't build a sellable gun by building it with mostly automation. The first Remlins were a disappointment, & Remington re-grouped. New machinery was purchased, manufacturing methods updated, & quality was improved to the point that some made statements like; "the improved Remlin was probably made better than that of the last few years of JM"
I don't recall have handled an improved Remlin, but hoping to live long enough & keep a sharp enough eye that I get to handle a Ruglin or 3 when they come out. I think it will be very interesting to see what Ruger comes up with.
