I have and they look great! I'm hoping to see the different configurations on frames with a comparison pics to known standards. I think it would be great for everyone trying to decide what they would like. If possible, I would like to see Bisley junior on Single Six compared to standard Bisley on SS.

I have and they look great! I'm hoping to see the different configurations on frames with a comparison pics to known standards. I think it would be great for everyone trying to decide what they would like. If possible, I would like to see Bisley junior on Single Six compared to standard Bisley on SS. Ok Well i will have to finish one out for you. But here is a small comparison. Let me point out something that will be very helpful. There are two .250 locator pin holes in each frame. These holes are measured from the center of the holes to the bottom corner of the 8 degree ten minute Main frame angle where the main frame and the grip frame meet! The bisley backstrap versions are all in the same location. If you notice in the upper right , Bisley youth, how close they are to the bottom of the frame in comparison to the full size grip frame on the bottom left. The bisley youth upper hole gets cut in half because of the forward geometry for the hammer spring and strut travel! It is much closer to the trigger guard Than the other two. I used the geometry for the XR3 to accomplish this so that the frame (Bisley Youth) would accomodate young hands! The bisley Junior is for and adult hand however for shorter reach and fingers! The frame is a little shorter at the bottom so that it is much more proportionate in size to a single six than the orangutan bisley grip look on A single six! The forward position of the junior is the same as the standard bisley. If you look at the trigger spring stud perch you will also notice that on the Youth and junior it is moved forward and down 3/32 of an inch to offer more grip panel platen than the bisley standard size so we could take off a little more meat off the backstrap to accomodate smaller palms and shorter reach. however it fits very nice in a large hand as well. Pure physics man, a largehand can grasp small things but a smaller hand cannot grasp something to large! And our goal here is to cover everyones needs! We are building a one on one comparison chart for every one to help in you decision. Here is a pic of the youth on a SS and a junior on a standard blackHawk however i will do one up for you and finish it out. I have done two for friends but will have to get them to send me a pic of them because Texas is a big place and they are 500 miles away now. Lol I will follow this pic up with a geometrical comparison of a Junior and a youth, then A junior and a standard bisley. Hope this helps! Ronnie

Bisley Junior in Black on top of a Bisley Youth in Red. Notice the youth trigger guard is for use with a Blackhawk trigger for shorter reach.

Bisley Standard in Black on top of Bisley Junior in Red! The Juniors Trigger guard is for use with a bisley trigger, but just a smidge smaller at the front to look more proportionate. A decision had to be made on that issue so common sense got the better of me and i decided if you need a shorte,r smaller grip frame you probably wont have fat finger syndrome like me, so lets make it proportionate. Notice the grip panel boss is smaller on the junior and youth compared to the Standard Bisley! Hope this helps and i will do my best to clear up any issues you might find! Thank you Ronnie

What about the width? When Ruger came out with the New Model Flattops, they made the stainless ones a tad thicker than the blued ones. The blued ones fit my hand better. I thought the Stainless felt thicker, but when someone else ask about this, it was confirmed the stainless ones were indeed thicker. So, will the Junior or youth model be thinner than the standard?

Quick question.
I am really liking the Potato Judge grip frame for a NM. I want to use Power Custom(PC) hammer and trigger. His web site is a bit confusing.
What PC hammer and trigger combo do I need to order?
Will there be a gap at the back of the hammer at the frame (no Ruger bisley hammer hump)?
Will grips or blanks be available soon?
Thanks in advance!

Ronnie Thank you so much for the comparisons. The Bisley junior is what I think I will get for my SS but I will wait for the pictures to make sure. Thanks again for all of your time and efforts with this project! Marshall

When Ruger came out with the New Model Flattops, they made the stainless ones a tad thicker... Where exactly? The front back strap or the whole frame?

When Ruger came out with the New Model Flattops, they made the stainless ones a tad thicker... Where exactly? The front back strap or the whole frame? Gentlemen! They didnt make the stainless one thicker. It is the normal width of a half inch! .490 to .508 from what ive measured. However the new model flattop steel was made thinner. Im getting .440 on all i have seen. .030 less on each side of the grip panel platen on average. Any one is welcome to correct me if im wrong but i have seen that on several and there may be some more variations i have not run across. And God only knows there are a lot of very knowledgeable fellas on this forum. maybe some one else could pop in with some more info. However i could surely make a frame to those dimensions for you. Would be my pleasure!

I havent seen a stainless one that thickness yet. What year do you think that one is so we can kinda put that away in the data banks there! Thanks Shakey, good info to have!
