I got to speak to Ronnie on the phone the other day. He said he's got hammers out for color case now. Can't wait to see them!

Anyone here ordered a frame recently can give me a turn around time estimation? Placed my order on May 4th. Thanks guys. Depends on several factors. Which one of the several hundred grip frame shapes that are available are ordered. Brass availability and what ever else with it such as Panels. I keep the popular versions on the shelf but some times we run out depending on when we get run on. Recently i had a run on Bearskinners and pj 4 degrees. The only order i have on may the 4th is For a Bearskinner with walnut panels. If that is you Manny, your grip frame has been ready for a couple of weeks. The walnut that i had was not up to my standard so i went on the hunt and found some with nice grain patterns. I also upgraded the Bearskinner to the new inner profile which profiles and lightens as well as a smidge more strength added. I ran Bearskinner panels yesterday so they are ready to ship as we speak. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 some odd grip frames and panels will ship tommorrow, but will probably not get on the truck till tuesday due to the post office holiday. Hope that helps. R

Just got off the phone with Ronnie. Everytime we talk, he's got something cool in his head that's going to delay my retirement

I am very close to having the funds to purchase my own RWGF but am nervous I’ll pick the wrong one. I like the looks of a few but haven’t the slightest idea how they’ll feel in my hand. Any advice?

Know what size gloves you wear when you call Ronnie. As long as you tell him what size your hand is and the style of frame you like, he will set you up right or perhaps even come up with a new design. You never can tell with that mad genius what's coming next.

Spoke to Mr. Wells yesterday, he advised I was the first to request a Bradford Bisley with a dragoon gaurd/Bisley trigger. Now I'm finally going to get off my duff and set up to nitre blue all the pins, screws and hardware for a blued gun to use in my SS flat top 44. I'm thinking I'll create a program to do engine turning in one of my miller's too, that will allow my to create not just dead perfect rows, but also patterns like spirals and waves with perfect consistency.

Here is a novice question: What is so special about the Keith #5? Never could tell by just looking at the pictures. How does it differ from the standard issue Ruger Bisley?

Here is a novice question: What is so special about the Keith #5? Never could tell by just looking at the pictures. How does it differ from the standard issue Ruger Bisley? The #5 essentially combines front strap of the Colt single action army and the back strap of the Colt Bisley. The Ruger Bisley was inspired by the #5, but is bigger and longer, and has more knuckle room. The general consensus is that the Ruger Bisley handles heavy recoil much better than the Keith #5.

It might be worth mentioning that while Elmer Keith is a giant among gun writers, he was hardly a giant in stature, some contemporaries putting him as short as 5'4" so even if he had proportionally large hands they were still fairly small compared to many. I've never shot a true Colt bisley, I would say they look a little awkward. Kind of how classic shuetzen rifle stocks tend to look more artistic than practical.
