As many of you know i have been pounding away on this hammer and trigger project, And i am making sugnificant progress.
However i have not neglected grip frame development. i have just been so busy with the hammers i havent posted much.
Also as a few of you know that i have had the pleasure of shaking hands with, There is a reason i started making grip frames so long ago.
My oversized sammich grabbers.
Well this last summer i had the pleasure of being invited to the shootist holiday with my lovely bride and we had the time of our life.
I just thought i had a large hand. I shook hands with a man and a real Gentlemen, Tony Aman.
And the name suits him. Yes AMAN. Because i felt like i was shaking paws with an Orangatan or the offspring of Sasquatch. Holy Guacamole i felt like 12 year old shaking hands with this man.
My oldest daughter has said many tiimes that i dont have fingers, i have sausages with a nail on the end. Well this guy had cucumbers. LOL.
So we put our heads together and came up with a solution. The S.S. AMAN. Short for Sasquatch Series AMAN!
It fit him Perfectly and in the process i got really attached to the design. It is a Bradshaw which is extended rearward 3/16 of an inch and .425 thousands longer.
It is ofcourse not for everyone but for those with say about size 14 wedding ring fingers and up, it is perfect.
I have 2 other gentleman with that same problem. Big Guys.
Here is a completed 45 colt that belongs to one of them.
Doesnt look to gawty, which i was afraid of.
Here is a Standard Bisley panel on top of it.
Here is one i made for myself and some description and comparisons.
First my hand and a standard Bisley.
Not real comfy for the big boomers and zero Knuckle room.
I love the Bradshaw but my finger still hangs off the bottom.
Here is my new cocobolo covered S.S. AMAN on one of my favorite old .500 Linebaughs built in 1990 that i am upgrading with my new logo.
Room everywhere. I like it way to much.
gonna get Bobby to put his Color case on it and rebarrel her Cuz shes almost shot out.
It will be put on the website soon along with a Buttload of hammers and triggers. Cylinders will be available soon as well as stainless and steel gripframes for some of the offshoot gripframes for the Ruger, FA, And BFRs.
