Regarding my original project gun (https://singleactions.proboards.com/thread/32758/enroute-me-tyler-gun-works), I found the brass version of the Bradshaw Bisley a bit too heavy for me and the Super Blackhawk hammer was a bit too close to the web of my hand. After consulting the ever amazing RDW, I settled on The Dealer in aluminum with Ronnie doing the fitting. The revolver arrived back today and it is much better for me. I hope to get it to the range soon. Thank you RDW! -Stan View AttachmentNearly a twin to my .460 Rowland. Love the Dealer frame.

I will eventually order at least one of the aluminum grip frames, partially for the weight savings, and partially because of my interest in the several new non-standard shapes he has introduced. The hardest part right now is deciding which one. There are so many choices now. It's simply amazing, and I hope that RW stays in business for a long time.

I spoke with Ronnie yesterday- what a great guy. I’m looking forward to ordering a couple more frames in aluminum. I think Ruger needs to pay him some royalties…tell me I’m not the only one who is considering buying more guns because of the grip frames available! I spent a good chunk of the day fitting a brass Dealer to a single six. I’ve done stainless Ruger parts frames before, and they were a pain. Working with this brass frame was a pleasure! I have no idea how to post pics or i’d post up the progress.

I can tell you that I have more of the RW brass frames than I have suitable revolvers at present. They are just waiting in the parts box for Ruger to start making some revolvers I would like to have. Another brass #5 is awaiting shipment, and I will likely order one more of the discount offerings before they dry up.

Most of my guns are stainless and most have been swapped to factory alloy grip frames. It is just a weight saving/balance thing that works well for me. So I have been happily watching the aluminum frame progress with much interest. Then Rascal Ronnie posted the sale. I have now broken my Brass Cherry.

I am new to the forum, first post. A friend who is active here told me to check out the RW Grip frame website after chatting about his plans to customize a few ruger revolvers. I visited his site (a bit overwhelming to a novice) but I also joined the forum, lurked around this thread and was blown away with Ronnie's work. I called Ronnie and immediately got two projects in motion after chatting for a bit. I was amazed at the breadth of his knowledge and advice. The gun pictured here is a 5 1/2 in new model Blackhawk in 45 LC. Ronnie fit the "Martin XR Hybrid" grip frame in brass, and also fit some INCREDIBLE looking spalted grapefruit wood grips. I have been an avid woodworker for a long time, spalted grapefruit wood is new to me, and boy it did not dissapoint. Throughout the process Ronnie was very generous with updates and communications, and generally speaking, ratcheted up my excitement for the hobby quite a bit. The fit and finish is fantastic, and the increased comfort shooting makes all the difference. Looking forward to many more projects with Ronnie in the future.

Yep. Those grips are incredible. But this gun handles as well as it looks. I had the opportunity to spend some time with it and I really like the Martin Hybrid.
This gun was a breeze to sight in. Can't beat 45 Colt out of a 5-1/2" barrel. A very common gun that was made very unique with a grip frame swap.
Dogberg is hooked. He'll be sending his cylinders to 2 Dogs shortly and he is getting set up to start casting.

The hardest part about Ronnie's frames is finding and affording enough guns to try them all!

Sorry guys, false alarm. I just heard from the guys at RW. While my email did say hammer they used the same order number and it's actually a grip frame....sorry for the confusion
