I like the "party pack" idea. I was trying to thing how you could send metal frames that wouldn't be usable. Like machining a pair face to face with nothing in front of the trigger guard. Plastic would be better. Charge people I dunno, $125.00 or whatever, and when they send them back $100 of it gets applied to the price of a grip frame.

All it would cost is 8 bucks or so to send them to the next guy. Was thinking might be better to make some that would atleast bolt on with your screws so you could feel it on your gun with the weight and all. You wouldnt need to even put your hammer spring in. Actually make it hollow in the middle or something like that. This is really for all of us single action guys that chat back and forth. My vision was a couple of dozen party packs with maybe a half a dozen or so variations just to give all of you guys a feel. We would say ok CAS there coming your way, are you gonna be in town this week. Yes? ok check em out for a couple of days, boltem on to your favorite ride, and when your done and have some idea of what you want, Then send them to Eagle, Eagle ,when your done sendem to jRingo, Johnny when you done send em to Kaytod, Kaytod when your done send em to silcott, you know keepem moving around till one of us catches Ebola or some crap like SyphaGonaHerperia. Hahaha. Maybe we could start an epidemic or something .Lol ,Sorry guys ive been cutting brass all day. im might need to go home now. This is to much fun! Ronnie!

We did that once upon a time with a throating reamer and it vanished along the way.

I have a question for everyone and I will talk to Ron about this too.... Does anyone know of or has anyone ever thought about this.... A simple way to use the NM frame on both the OM and NM? I know all about the plunger and know about the ones with the lock cut into the frame too .... but has anyone over the years came up with a solution to use one frame for everything? I have a very simple solution which if no one else has done will what Ron is doing easier and less work for him and will allow us to use all NM frames on everything This is the reason I got this beautiful Ruger Wranger frame which I was just gifted... i really want to hear your feedback Thanks in advance God Bless,John

A stuffer has been used for years now.The stuffer being a small piece of material that houses the old model pusher spring and pins in to the new model via the trigger spring cross pin. However it leaves the large window open and susceptible to all kinds of nastys because all new model frames are cut out for new model triggers. And does not cater to the narrow trigger. Our goal here is to make a frame that is well designed for each old and new that will not be a compromise by any means. I am working on the bisley trigger for the old model as we speak and hope to have a solution for a real Bisley trigger that utilizes the old model pusher design so that we dont get to far out of kilter. I love the way the old model trigger feels, but thats just me! Power custom makes a bisley hammer that has the large back like the Ruger design. That hammer combined with this new old model bisley trigger will work just perfectly with the old model Bisley true bisley trigger guard and get us where we want to go. I have seen the clements bisley trigger and hammer sets for the old model for use with a new model grip frame and they are very Sexy, but i dont know how available they are going to be in the future. Going to Ronnie's web site, I see no mention of the Lightening frame, yet on the first page of this thread there is a picture of one... So, will this be available, and for which model? Is it designed to use standard Lightening grip panels? I've been a member for some time now, and have mostly been reading and looking at everyone's toys. It's nice to see others get crazy ideas also! 😜

It's nice to see others get crazy ideas also! 😜 I have not got a lot of attention on the lightning so far so i havent put a lot of time in it. There are a few grip panel bugs and i need to get back on it Thunderhorse. But it will be available. I have been putting most of my efforts into some others designs lately and they are almost ready so hang in there. Do you or anyone else have a current popular lightning grip panel that is readily available that i could borrow? I hate to reinvent the wheel here with a new panel. My lightning is for use with the Bisley style trigger. The blackhawk trigger guard (Blah) just does not do it for me. I like the round stretched humped look of the colt lightning myself and that is where i went with it. I have something else up my sleeve with the lightning but im not ready to turn that loose yet. It might cause a few heart palpitations. Hey Todd B, did i spell that right. Hahaha. And as far as crazy ideas go. Oh my goodness. I have had close friends tell me, they wouldnt want to walk a mile in my shoes, that would be boring for most, and to much work. What you ought to try is being in my Head for a minute, THAT WOULD FREAK YOU OUT MAN!

You got that right! People are gonna need an AED and crash cart nearby when you drop the Lightning stuff on them.
You're gonna need a YouTube channel to post videos and imbed them on your website. Seeing will be believing.

I may have a set of Franzite grips and I think a friend of mine might have some old originals but nothing from a current grip maker that I know of. Thinking of a .32 Single Six with a 3 1/2 inch "Sheriff" barrel that's been Lightening-ized....

I too have been craving a Lightning for a current project (snubbed out 44 Vaq. Sheriff). As far as a loaner grip all I have is this. It is two piece but not for Ruger. And I have take-off one piece grips from Italian guns. Let me know if any of that would help.

I am getting more confused every day! lol
Right now I like the idea of the potato judge with a large trigger guard. On your 38-40 what does it measure from the back of the grip frame to the face of the trigger with a straight line going through the grip screw?

Just a passing thought, with all the 3d printers available, and your drawings already made up. Could you not just send a file so those with access to a printer could make up the desired grip frame for trial?

This one is 3" .020 because i left it a little flatter on the back strap. The main difference on the PJ is the bottom. It allows you to do a lot more shaping of the butt!
