I am getting more confused every day! lol Right now I like the idea of the potato judge with a large trigger guard. On your 38-40 what does it measure from the back of the grip frame to the face of the trigger with a straight line going through the grip screw? Potato Judge is the same as the bisley. 3 inch. This one is 3" .020 because i left it a little flatter on the back strap. The main difference on the PJ is the bottom. It allows you to do a lot more shaping of the butt! That is sort of what I thought. I really like the profile. Now brass or aluminum. decisions decisions... At least I have a little time waiting on parts.

anybody have pics of brass grip on a stainless frame. ***** Brass on stainlessHad this exact jawbone with Lee Martin the other night. We agreed it must be ugly. But I intend to dispute myself in the interest of learning and, especially, marksmanship. Expect to learn for my own self. Aluminum on blue or stainlessAs for aluminum, I see its place in the Ronnie Wells scheme of things as a special gripframe to reduce weight while protecting anatomy. In other words, the aluminum has a job greater than weight reduction alone. Til now the Ruger aluminum handles were about the original Blackhawk concept----Bill Ruger’s revitalization of the Colt Peacemaker, stronger, more durable, more affordable. The Blackhawk .44 Mag is Bill Ruger’s race to reach the newsstand before or at the same time as Smith & Wesson’s N-frame cannon. Remington loaded Rocks & Dynamite, recoil calculated to wake a dead man firing the Blackhawk. Led directly to the Super Blackhawk gripframe. Now there is a chance to base the aluminum gripframe on performance. Reckon in the end even a macho man will select performance over recoil. David Bradshaw

Their are some combos that i think look good but others rather gaudy. And after thirty some odd years of doing this i still cant make up my mind. Hahaha. There is just something about a blue or color case with a Brass frame, Shiny or dull that just says YES to me!!!!!!! IT JUST BELONGS MAN.

This 460 Rowland is going to be blue. If I go aluminum I will have it cerokoated. I am thinking of the weight. I do like brass on a blue gun though.

I think a high polish stainless gun and high polish brass grip frame would look good, but you’d have to maintain the polish on the brass.

Brass Brother, Brass. Aluminum is boring but Brass is Keeeewl. hahaha I don't carry single-actions much, so I could care less about weight. And I agree with Ronnie....brass looks so much better than aluminum on blue. But every now and then I like the contrast aluminum provides. .41 Magnum: Once again, hats off to Ronnie for giving us so many options. Ronnie - I owe you a call. I'm very eager to talk about your cylinder blanks. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I think Lee is right, Ronnie needs to make brass ejector housings next.
(don't bother looking for where he said that. lol It was the two tone photo that made me think it)
