I’m out of the box here, as this cartridge was designed around the Cooper bolt action rifle... there is quite a bit of load data on another forum for 14” Contender barrel... and one load for a 10” Contender barrel
The Contenders have had good luck with H-110... since I have a 6” and a 4” barrel I’m looking at a bit faster powder... thinking I’ll start with AA#7, since I have a bunch of that, I’m working with it right now, and it’s in the burn rate I think I’m looking for... I expect 1400 - 1800 FPS between the 2 guns, using 22 Hornet, or 22 TCM bullets... the TCM bullets are 40 grain short jacket hollow points... I’ve also loaded Speers 33 grain TNT’s
Brass is light and small... expect 6 - 12 loads per case, depending on how hot they are loaded

If its anything like the 17CCM I had brass life would greatly depend on how hard you push em! There isn't hardly any metal around that primer pocket so its easy to smoke one. 0.1gr can make a big difference.
I think that cartridge would be sweet in a little revolver like your single six.

I'm interested to see how you do with it.
I'll be watching for velocity and load data from you.

Maybe you have already stated here in the thread.
What cylinder are you running in the Single Six?
Oh I see. 4140 and heat treated.

I'd say so. Jokingly I say you have a weird box. However, it's an interesting box. This project checks the "because I can" box too. I'm sure you'll let us know how this goes and I'd surely be interested.

spent Monday evening sizing & knocking out the primers on the 500 ish cases I just got... last night I ran half of those through the wet tumbler with a little Dawn & a small scoop of Citric acid... got them looking brand new... will get the 2nd half wet tumbled tonight... I'm finishing up a run of something more "normal" 4-500, 10mm Auto, while I wait for some plastic ammo boxes to get here for the 22 CCM ( odd size cases fit best in 22 rimfire magnum ammo boxes )
As I mentioned, the flash holes had already been deburred... something I don't necessarily do on "normal" cases but I found it worth while on the 25 Auto cases I loaded for my 25 ACP Blackhawk ( Oooops another weird gun ). so these should be ready for some accuracy wringing out once I get them loaded...

I know many (most?) say all of the rifle brass accuracy tricks is a waste of time for revolvers, I tend to do it on my brass. I don't keep more than 200-300 pieces of brass for each revolver in rotation at a time so it's no big deal. Can't hurt kinda thing and I see you're doing it.

I like the idea you posted in another thread about leaving the 22hornet rim when making them from hornet brass. Should increase the relatively weak case head a bunch.

Got out the caliper and loading dies and played a little 22 CCM tonight Learning a few things... Chamber length is tight to spec on the single action... all my cases will need trimming to fire in that gun... even a new unfired Velo-dog is 0.005” long, fired Velo-dog cases are about 0.010” long, as are the new cases I just bought 4 Grains of AA#7 is nice in the Velo-dog cases... new cases don’t have the same case volume, and 4 grains are too hot... didn’t damage the gun, or the case, but a small pistol primer didn’t survive in normal fashion... I was loading the 40 grain TCM bullets tonight... doubt I’ll want to switch to small rifle primers as tiny and thin as the cases are So I’m trimming cases right now, starting with the Velo-dog ( I have about 400 of those ) the 2nd batch of new cases is about ready to come out of the wet tumbler right now... I took the time to load about 20 rounds, verifying they fit in the chambers, 1 by 1, and test fired the 2 cartridges in the dark, where I learned about the pressure issues on the new cases... I’ll fire at least a cylinder full tomorrow at a target just to get a look at what we’re doing It’s definitely got a super sonic crack to it, so I probably should have started a little lighter... but my experience here told me 4 grains of AA#7 should get me pretty close to a working load...

Loaded up a couple of the new cases... was using my lil dandy measure... a #1 arbor gets me 4 grains... the #0 arbor gets me 3.3 grains
Case walls are thicker... issues with fitting in the chamber with .224 bullets... fixing that right now, by starting it in the sizing die ( no decapping pin) and squeezing where the bullet is...
Wondering if some Hornet .223 bullets would fix that issue???
Also wondering if these new cases are machined rather than drawn???

I remember reading about the early cases being machined. Can't say if thats what you've got or not.

I have an order for 50 of the machined RCC cases, but it’ll be spring before those get here... I suspect they’ll look/ act like the cases I just got...

22LR, 22CCM, 22 Rim Mag... properly trimmed to length CCM case ( in the middle ) is a full 1/8" longer & a little "beefier" so it should be capable of 15% or so more velocity / power, than the 22 Rim Mag out of a Single Six Dare I say 22 Supermag???

was surprised to find some .223" Hornet bullets in stock... had to go up to 45 grain, but bought 2 boxes to try with the latest ( thicker ) cases... just to see if that fixes the need to squish the case mouth more on those new cases... 40 grain .223" bullets were out of stock, but they'll notify me when they get in... those may be the ticket to use with the newer thicker cases... www.midwayusa.com/product/1010933331?pid=666171
