No 6 1/2” Blackhawks in the house but I figured someone else who appreciates nice old leather will have one.

wanted to try a “WFN” type bullet in the Ruger 45 Bisley, so a Lee 452-300 GC was ordered along with some gator gas checks and a .452 push thru sizer for some cheap entertainment. this batch was 1/3 linotype (i think it’s lino, awful brittle when hot, melts at ~450) with 2/3 plumbers lead. BHN probably around 12-13, powder coated with Eastwood’s lime green. they weigh roughly 312 grains with gas check and stack nicely in the box I repurposed from the wife. load: 22 gr/W296 CCI 350 COL ~1.575” (tight throats require crimping in the top groove) new starline case will test at 50 yards and report back *side note, i lubed a batch of these with Fryxells 50/50 beeswax/moly grease blend. installing gas checks in the Lyman 450 was quite hard (to the point that something would break if I kept it up) so checks were installed via the Lee push thru sizer then lubed in the 450. The target will be the final decider but i’m starting to get the stories i’ve read of abandoned lube-sizers due to powder coating. The folks in California will be able to shoot these "green" bullets, you could make a killing!

45acp
I found a bag of sized and lubed 200gr swc bullets at the shop while looking for something else.
Ken Waters said he liked Blue Dot with the 200gr cast bullet. Figured I'd give it a shot.
200gr SWC CCI 300 9.0gr Blue Dot

Always found the 300gr + Lee to be very accurate in both the 45 Colt (Ruger only) and .44 Mag. Very versatile seating depth and accurate.

Was a rainy day here thanks to the outer bands of Delta, so I prepped another 175 pcs of brass for loading. Sized and deprimed, trim to length, chamfer case mouth, ream primer pockets to eliminate the crimp, and primed. That’s a lot more work that simply running 38 specials through the Dillon.

Just finished everything for out the door monday! Entertained a Gentleman from Houston who wanted to feel some grips today And decided to spank a little lead tomorrow and realized its time to do a little cleaning. Been testing so much i had to get some sixshooters ready to shoot again and all cleaned up. And yes the dog helps me keep the floor down in place. Once that was done it was time to load some bigguns. .510 ers for some big recoil grip frame testing! For the few gentlemen i have discussed reloading with, As Promised, Pictures of my setup here at the shop. My comfy little air conditioned and wide screen TV/Comcast infinety supplied loading Room. My mini Man Cave. It also serves as a small electronics repair lab on occasion but most generally my reloading hide away. The T slots in the table allow me to just setup the Bench as needed. All presses, powder dumps and all bullet squashin stuff is mounted to a plate that has the receiver T slot so you can lock her down in place with a 3/8s allen wrench. Movie playing today is (Death Rides A Horse) Hahaha. Other side view of luber and powder dump. Man these 500Ls chew up some powder fast! Veiw of the slot configuration. The table is made of 1.25 inch aluminum, hard anodized in Black. Very easy to clean. Same on the mounting plates for the various presses and the T is Brass.

That T-slot idea is genius for the loading bench. Thanks for the pictures and new ideas RW.

I need to clean my man cave. Mine looks more like a storage unit right now.
