44 Mag loads for my western trips in the backyard of teeth and nails. 44 Mag Winchester Brass 240gr Cutting Edge H110 in increments of 21.5gr, 22.0gr and 22.5gr CCI Large Pistol Magnum The next range session will determine the winner. I settled on 22.6gr H110, New Starline cases, CCI 350 Mag primers, crimped in the top crimp groove of the 240gr Cutting Edge mono solid. Didn't accuracy test per se, but did check POI at 25yds with my standard load(s) using the zero 240gr JSP and 2400 or 296. Only chronoed a couple getting 1,240 fps from my 2 3/4" M69 and 1,340 from my 4 1/4" M69 - muzzle vel from Labradar and 50 deg F. Looking forward to your results. Paul

Mine will be out of a 4" 629. Thanks for the info to compare.

NO pics but 10mm 155 SWCs over some Longshot and some Sierra 165s over some 231. Will test them soon, used my new taper crimp die from RCBS hopefully will stop weird flight patterns of plated 180s. Will see how they shoot. Ruger has shot the factory 10s well. My reloads are a bunch of flyers and keyholing. My current thinking is crimp. Just got the Taper Crimp die today. Will keep you posted.

5.7x28 for the Single Six
Shot the factory ss197sr load Shot some handloads with 40gr V-Max and Accurate No7, also Trail Boss with an Armscor 40gr jacketed soft hollow point
Handloads are more accurate than the factory loaded ammunition. I didn't set up a chronograph today, that day will come soon.
Good stuff.

35gr V-Max on Accurate No7 powder for the 5.7x28
Ripper load, it's suggested as a starting load from Accurate Powder data, claiming 2kfps from a 5" barrel. I'm running 8+" including the cylinder of the Single Six

cast two batches of MP 45-270 1st was wheel weight (or what i think is wheel weight alloy) + 2% tin was quite brittle and could actually break the bullets in half when dropped from mold, might have been running a bit hot. sized and lubed with 50-50 beeswax/stabil moly grease. weighed in around 265 grains 2nd batch i cut the above alloy in half with plumbers lead. weighed in around 280 grains. will load both over 8 grains HP-38 and see how they act

Went two tenths under the starting load suggested in the Western Powders load guide for the 5.7x28 with Accurate No7 and the Hornady 35gr V-Max
This cartridge is sensitive, very sensitive. Also the data is for a 5" blowback self-loader and I am using a locked breech.
Actually had a moment between chores and wind to set up a chronograph, then it started raining! Managed to record a cylinder full - and I was happy to see 2000fps from this load.
What a little screamer!

Working on some loads for the 353. My shooting hopes for the next couple weeks were dashed today.

Loaded some 45 Colt.
250 XTP, Starline brass, WLP, and CFE-Pistol Working up from 8 grains starting load of CFE-P to 8.8 grains book max. Standard pressure... book claims 915 FPS as I recall.
Also loaded a few with 250 Deep Curls.
These are just some break in ‘get to know you’ loads for the FA 97.

125gr. .360 LSWCs over 3.0gr of Unique, typically good for about 650-660 fps. out of the little S&W; a deliberately 'antique-friendly' load.

44 Magnum for the S&W 69.
Matts Bullets 250 HP with 6.5 of 231. This has been VERY accurate for me in the 69. Also loaded a few at 7 to see if the accuracy holds out there with a slight boost in fps.
