Sounds like a fun hunt Robster. Did you get any hares though? No, we ran two but never got a shot at them. Scent conditions were tough, but that's when the dogs learn the most by trying to stay on the track. A great day nonetheless

Hey lefty did you by chance retrieve the boolit? I just cast my first pentas this weekend. Nope, blew right thru him. I returned it to Mother Earth! Lol I dont Think I got much if any expansion judging by the exit hole. But no telling since theres no recovered slug.

Frank would say that you get Green Credits for depositing that dangerous lead back into Mother Earth. Spend them wisely.
Was the HP a 50ww/50pure?

Yes 50/50. The way I cast mine (green way) the boolit becomes non-toxic. So yes I get green credits!

Shot another big possum, that doggie had up a tree last night... Might be the 1st I've shot out of a tree, most choose to fight the dog from the ground, came home from a poker game about midnight, heard doggie barking "that bark" out in the wind break... Grabbed the lil 17, and put it down for the dog to shake awile...

that lil 17 mach 2 rifle kills anything that comes on the farm yard... well... ok... might not be my 1st choice if a wandering mountain lion decided it wanted to hang around the sheep pasture & yes... I do admit to using a 480 Alaskan on a rather large possum... ( the way it was growing & fighting off the dog, partially in a hole, I 1st thought it was a badger, & was worried about my big dumb farm doggie )

I'm going to put this one here. Hard to call a 1.5 year old doe big game. It seemed huge to me at he time, but probably qualifies as small game. Came from a non-shooting family. Bought my first gun when I turned 21 and shot this doe over 25 years ago when I was 22. Gun was a ruger blackhawk 357 shooting 180 grain winchester black talon factory loads that Terry Murbach gave me. I ended up splitting the deer with him, didn't have enough room for the whole thing.

Several years ago... I let Bambi walk... Was terrible sleeting weather all week... I was using a 45-70 Contender... Only deer I saw all weekend was a fawn, that walked right under my stand... So close I could have conked him on the head... Let him walk, and didn't end up getting.any venison that year...

Wouldn't have shot the one above if I'd realized how small it was. On the other hand the meat was out of this world.

This last weekend was a daddy weekend as my wife was off dress shopping for her sis’s wedding. (Don’t know why they go 500 miles to do that, but was glad to not go along). A little break in the weather so the kids and I spent all day outside. Funny how nice 10 degrees can feel!! Got this dandy jack to show for it. Used the 69. Successful hunt.
