We jumped a pair up. Then followed tracks. We jumped them up again and later found this one bedded in some rocks. It wasn’t a far shot. He thought he was hidden.
Missed another bedded one this evening. Shot just under him at about 80-90 or so. Might have got a leg. But he will survive for sure.

Outside doggie asked for my help again tonight... Will have a picture of another possum tomorrow getting pretty good at shooting scoped rifle, while holding the flashlight along the forearm of the stock... 17 Mach 2 again... another critter we don't need in the farm yard... this one shot 15 ft from the house...

This was about an 80 yard shot with a 38 Special loaded in the Handi. This was about 50 yards. This was about 20 yards with a wadcutter. Barely broke the skin but put him out. This was about 30 yards.

They sure are. I had the one posing with my Handi Rifle tanned. Gave the other one to a buddy so he could practice his tanning skills. He had it sitting on his work bench and went inside for something. When he came out, it was gone. He guesses one of the neighborhood dogs had grabbed it.

Another possum in the dogs sights tonight... A big one... Likely parent of the juveniles I've been getting lately... Picture will follow one of the old dead pine trees in the wind break, fell down in the high winds... doggie had it trapped in there... again, shot with the 17 Mach 2

Squirrel hunting with a pistol, one of my favorite holiday afternoon hunts. Had one of the 10" MKII and swapped it off like a darn idiot. I have since used the 32 Buckeye, SW19 and Marlin lever gun in 357. Used the little truncated Lee 120PB, no blood shot or torn up meat, just a clean hole. When the son and I hunted he was hell on head shots. I tried and would wreck the whole front end.

This was about an 80 yard shot with a 38 Special loaded in the Handi. Very cool...a modern rook rifle!
