One built out of an old mag fed Marlin 22 ( a model 780 ) an old picture from before the conversion... just added one of TJ's hammer forged 17 caliber barrel liners, bought a reamer & chambered it & added a scope...

I have never set a trap before... but bought a gopher hawk last year...and had not used it until this weekend ( our 1/4 mile driveway is infested with gophers ) got a picture of a dead snarling critter I trapped this weekend, that I’ll post tomorrow... hoping that wasn’t beginners luck, and I can thin the town on my driveway

ugly critters they are... this not one of those cute striped gophers... more like a mole on steroids... though I have seen the striped as well... wonder if they use or take over the pocket gopher tunnels??? I happened to catch one of the mounds with an open hole, after mowing the ditches, & just dropped the gopher hawk into the hole... the trap comes with a poker, to push through the plugged holes as well, but we're still getting so much rain, that even fresh dug holes, they are able to pack with wet dirt, & I'm skeptical I'll be as lucky trapping into a plugged hole... will be keeping my eyes open for another mound in the process... I have a good sized gopher town on both sides of the driveway... if I had more time, I might be able to pop a couple stripes in the fresh mowed ditch, but I never have the spare time, when they are active... it's kind of embarrassing, when the neighbors stop by asking if they can scoop up the gopher dirt for potting

Been a while since I have posted. Busy in the summer I guess. Dog found the lil quill pig in the corn and decided to taste it after I shot it. Silly hound. Nothing too deep

Caught this little fella muckin' about near my tomatoes. I thought the .38 in my pocket might draw unwanted attention and grabbed the nearest .22, this single-shot target pistol. Emptied his skull from a few yards out.

Picking sweet corn last night. Dog bayed up another one. He managed to not try to bite this one. Also accomplished a long term goal of mine. About 50 yards. Not easy to get a shot at these buggers!

A crow with a open sighted, belt packable revolver ? Wow ! A trophy IMHO. Have hunted crows.
