I cast my bullets using a 70-30 mix of WW & Lead. By powder coating,, & adding the GC,, it seems to be just fine. I didn't get to shoot much,, but the bore looks perfect after those few rounds.

Has anyone done any more testing with this bullet? I have some of these that I got from sixshot. Getting some brass ready now.

I have some loaded & all,, I just need to make the time to do some testing with them. A pesky thing called "work" keeps me from enjoying things a lot!

Start with 18.5 of IMR 4227. Chances are your Maximum will like it. -Lee www.singleactions.com "Chasing perfection five shots at a time' That is what I'm thinking. I've done 19gr of 4227 under the lyman 215gr swc with good results. Justin

This is an interesting thread. The deep seating concept works. I've shot a lot of 200gr swc designed for 45acp in 45 colt. I lightly roll the case mouth over the shoulder. I know this is different than the Bradshaw method of deep seating heavy long bullets but the basic loading technique is similar. I've never had one jump crimp after 2500 or more shots. I'm definitely going to study this farther. Thank you for the info.

I don’t own a Maxi and haven’t, until this morning, read any of this thread. I have throughly enjoyed this thread with several cups of coffee. This thread is about three years old - has anyone taken some game with the BM194 yet? I’m interested in how it performs on critters and more than willing to experiment on some MS whitetail. I’ll have to get with my buddy, sixshot, and come up with a game plan. Like I said, I don't own a Maxi, but I can duplicate it’s performance in a M353, so I’ll have to come up with some accurate loads and do some field testing this next coming season. If lucky, I’ll report my results here.

Just chiming in to express my interest and appreciation of this "old" thread. I've also commented on this bullet on the thread wherein 41freak has shared that he is collecting design/dimensions of some of Lee's designs no longer available from Mountain Moulds to clone through Accurate. As stated there, I believe "discontinued" mould/bullet designs are a sad thing - especially if it was not an old and prolific design for which there are numerous old/used specimens one might acquire with patience and perseverance. I am slowly picking my way through this thread and enjoying it very much. I have a bit of a "thing" for 35 caliber handgun cases as being something of an ultimate utility round in revolver/carbine combinations and this bullet looks incredibly useful for the Max OR the Mag the way I tend to use/"misuse" designs.

Finally loaded some of these today. New Starline cases with 18.5gr IMR4227. I used a modified 357mag lee factory crimp die to put a very light crimp on them.
Hope I can try these soon.

David once told me he got away with almost no crimp on the Bradshaw-Martin. There's a fair amount of bearing surface on that bullet. They tend to stay put. Even so, I still crimp mine. Bradshaw's computer is on the fritz. Hopefully he'll weigh in here when he's back online. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I believe that the lee factory crimp that I put on these is going to be plenty. Like stated, these bullets have a lot of bearing surface. And my cases have quite a bit of neck tension. You can see the lube groves of the bullet after seating.
Even though, I'll still do my normal check for bullet jump.

I've been reading/re-reading this thread over time, as well as one on the Ruger forum (bunches of pics) and an article by Jeff Hoover in American Handgunner. As much as I am set on compressing my mould collection and getting down to TWO bullets per caliber, THIS ONE just keeps pestering me to add another in the 35 cal lineup. My two current favorites for the 35s is an NOE 360-180 WFN and 360-190 RDO Clone (both NOE 4Cs). Mostly for 357 Mag and Max carbines, but the 180 is my favorite in my little 3" revolver as well. The 360-190 RDO has been impressive in previous Mags and Max's, but the Bradshaw-Martin bullet is still so tempting. I haven't even shot my latest 357 Max, a 20" MGM Contender Carbine barrel I bought three years ago, but I feel I HAVE to have this bullet for it. I know - it's a carbine, not a revolver, but my experience with the Max in a carbine indicates to me that this would be another gem in that format. I was a bit bummed when Mountain Man retired, as I have to space my purchases over time and hadn't gotten to this particular mould, having had to pay closer attention to things like primers - while they were still available. At today's prices, whether anyone has them to sell or not is irrelevant to me - the price makes them "unavailable" to me, so that's where my meager budget was focused a couple years ago. Didn't get to where I wanted, but I'm farther ahead than I was. OK, sorry for the long-winded post, but I've kept this whole topic to myself since 2018 and there's a lot of pent up excitement and interest here. I don't own an Accurate mould yet, but I think I may have found the first one I will be ordering. Maybe Misters Bradshaw and Martin could verify whether all the critical parameters are extant in this version, but Accurate has THIS on their site: www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=36-190DMy only dilemma at this point is whether I should mix/match GC/PB on this one as I have on my other heavy 4Cs in 35. I have those set up as three PBs and one GC, because I have a suppressor somewhere in the "system" for my 357 MAG carbine and intend to PC PB bullets for that - and use that the most. I've reserved one GC cavity alone in each mould, specifically for the MAX, and that was before I tried PC. Unfortunately, I have cast and PC'd a few thousand 35s this winter, but have only fired TEN of them through my revolver and NONE in either the MAG or MAX carbines. The one trick I do have in my back pocket is that I have a chucking reamer of ideal dimension to remove GC rebates in 35 cal aluminum moulds and have done so to quite a few cavities. I am no machinist, but Lady Luck has been at my elbow for each nervy execution of this task, and the moulds look great - you can't tell which cavities I did from the ones that came that way. I'm just waiting for her to smack me down for getting too greedy by doing another one.

I put off getting my Bradshaw/Martin mold for a bit. Then, I finally did,, and now,, it's my "GO-TO" mold for the maxis. Luckily,, I got mine before Mountain Molds closed.

I think you'll like it. This summer I plan to try it in a Mauser 96 I converted to .35 Remington way back when. Also hope to shoot them in my .357 Herrett TC. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"
