Always liked that build. Nice can of repellant for the Kenai. Would like to see the backside and can't of the leather you had crafted for it. Nice build! Back side??? I can provide it if I know what you’re referring to trapr

I have to admit I have pondered a similar gun for years, sometimes I think I want a 500L, sometimes I think I want a mid-framed Flat top in 38/40 or 50GI, just for a fun gun you understand but the keys for me are the 4" barrel, roundbutted Bisley grip frame (probably a RW Aluminum one these days) it would be a grand to pack around and shoot. Id personally want adjustable sights for my eyes and versatility but to each their own...

Mine is kinda similar. It is a 5” round barrel and has a Bradshaw Bisley brass grip frame with Ronnie’s Walnut grips. It is a fantastic gun. I have carried it in one of Doc’s IWB holsters and in the field in a Ringler Linebaugh holster or Doc’s Ranger holster.

I thought about having some means of attaching a lanyard, I really like the inletted grip frame with a pin set into it to attach a lanyard. I think S&W does something similar on a little j frame. Trapr Have a S&W 317 air weight that I carry on a string around my neck when I am frog gigging in these Florida swamps . Has that little inletted pin in the butt.

Mine is only a 6 shot 45 colt, but along the same lines. Is a killin machine. 4” octogan, vaquero, round butted. “The beast”, with 23 gr H110. Jrh made it for me, my specs. Miha 280 hp powder coated, 13 gr hs6 shoots to sights at 50. Deadly.

Wondering what the op settled on for a load and such. I don’t remember seeing this one. Very nice little rig ! I settled on a 410/400 gr. Bullet going almost 1200fps, 33gr. H4227. Using my chosen front sight it places 400-430gr. bullets on the top of the front sight to 2” over the front. Making for a great gun for general purpose use, cast WFN, LFN, jacketed SP, and solid copper. Trapr

I'm late to the party checking out the new hardware. I hope you get to tote it through some country that justifies the build. That is enough hip horsepower for anything you can walk up on. I would enjoy reading about first blood if your season goes to plan.

Bullets are MBW, Hawk, and Woodleigh. My first blood with it was an aoudad as it walked thru thick cover. It has been carried on a couple of elk hunts where I walked 10-16 mile sa day. It s also been carried down here in Texas during my feral hog abatement work, no bullets have been recovered from actual kills, I did recover a Hawk 400gr. From a feral hog I purposely shot end to end to test bullets on. He was already dead and didn’t object.
