How did the POA VS POI compare? And Yes, I would be anxious to see how the 450-465 @ 1100 FPS works @ 50 to 75 yds for you.
This needs to be your new avatar Haaa...

I wonder if you upped the velocity on the lighter bullets would their accuracy improve, though what you're seeing is pretty decent as is. With all the choices in bullets it is hard to just pick a load and stay there.
Gotta admit that I love HS6 but I wish HS7 was still available.

POA was 7” below POI at 25yds, sight radius is 5.125” correction calls for a change from the .34 front sight to the .37 sight. I’ve done the change and will verify POA/POI at my next range session. I like my rounds to land on top of the front sight and I hold at six o’clock on my target, at 25yds I use a 3”x3” aiming point and hold at its bottom.
I’ll have to look into changing my avatar, it might be appropriate.
I thought breifly about upping the velocity on the 410gr. to 1200fps, but this gun isn’t really going to be a “hunting” gun, it’s a gun of opportunity and a short to medium range thumper. So 410gr just seemed a bit light and to defeat the purpose of having it in 500L.

A finely crafted, beautiful gun like the one above, this when lanyard might be considered. I've yet to have one installed on anything here, but the time is coming. Just makes too much sense.

I thought about having some means of attaching a lanyard, I really like the inletted grip frame with a pin set into it to attach a lanyard. I think S&W does something similar on a little j frame.

Went and shot 450gr and 465gr bullets loaded stout today, velocity showed 1080fps average for 450’s and 1065fps average for 465’s. Charges were 28gr 4227 on 465’s and 29gr 4227 on 450’s. These loads start to require your attention on grip strength, but they both proved accurate once I figured out how to shoot them.
The little gun does not like to be shot while resting the frame on anything and supporting the elbows on knees or table top, accuracy was very disappointing. I almost quit for the day after firing 5 rounds and getting a 12” pattern at 50yds and 12 to 15 inches high. Then I remembered the first day with ED loads was knees supporting elbows and wrists and gun floating, so I tried just supporting my wrists in the sticks and letting the gun float,.......HOORAY!!! 5 rounds into 6” at 50yds with both loads, and some left over ED loads went into 3” at 50yds The stout loads are still landing about 7” high at 50, but the ED loads are only 3” high, so I’ve got some figuring to do for a sight correction or possibly play with velocity and bullet weight a bit more.
I am looking forward to mid December when I get to hunt it.

Trapr This is what I have on my SBH bisley. It doesn't add anything to the grip and doesn't get in the way.

Yeah on the graceful solution concerning lanyard attachment. Don't care for the wart Bowen adds on the grip frame for lanyards. Love Bowen's guns just don't care for his resolution.

Smoking gun that’s exactly what I was thinking of, my only concern would be strength of cross pin. But I much prefer that clean look, and it doesn’t interfere with shooting grip or positioning when shooting off of bags or bench.
I even wondered about machining a hole in the same orientation and have the grip frame actually be the lanyard attachment point with rounded edges to prevent fraying. Details would be nice!!!

Sounds barbaric, but I think most anyone with some half-ass skill could perform that lanyard attachment job with as little as an angle-grinder/zip-disc, drill-press and a bit of cold-blue. Tap in a proper sized roll-pin & away ya go... I might even do it on my trapping gun now that I've see this
Good DIY project

Always liked that build. Nice can of repellant for the Kenai. Would like to see the backside and can't of the leather you had crafted for it.
Nice build!
