It showed up today. I bought this last week after deliberating for several days. I finally decided if I was going to have a Linebaugh built gun it was time to act. I couldn't be more pleased. The photos don't show the color of the blueing as well as I'd like but it's that beautiful, almost plum blue. The first thing I noticed was how tight this gun locks up. To use an old cliche, it locks up like a vault. The seller said it was shot less than 20 rounds. The box of brass had nine with fired primers. It looks like it might have only been fired nine times. It's number 258. I'm headed to the range tomorrow and loaded up a few rounds to try. The seller included a set of Hornady dies, 50 rounds of Hornady brass and a partial box of Cast Performance 435 grain WFNGC bullets (missing nine bullets). I picked up a box of CP 525 WFNGC bullets and loaded a few of them as well.

Congrats! That's a real nice Linebaugh built 500L. I think you did well considering you got the dies, brass and bullets in the deal. Very nice indeed!

Only 9 rounds. Good for you the previous owner didn't discover Trail Boss. One of my friends loads his with 450 gr plinkers with TB. Very easy and fun shooting. Congrats on the beautiful 500 !

Working the action on a near new Linebaugh is like opening a bank vault. Itβs a great feeling. You got it at a great price for a custom, for an investment and for a capable companion in any situation.

Actually my second custom though I don't know who did the work on my Bisley 357 Max. It came from a member here.

No yet. I thought I'd email or write a letter. I hate to impose on a busy man's day with a phone call.

Frank is right, John loves to visit with people that have bought his guns. If I remember he has a book with all of them listed in it and what he did and when he did it.
