Paul was saying the last model he reviewed shows the path going right up the middle. Not good at all.
I've only experienced winds in the 60 - 95 mph variety.... I can't imagine 150, 185.... mph. Wow.

I've rode out blizzards and white outs in snow caves and damaged tents. Wind is scary. I remember a Feb night on the ridge leading up to Mt Marcy. Still scares me.

Update from Paul.
"It looks like we are going to come out of this thing in ok shape. The storm is going further west of us than first predicted. We are expecting 40-50 mph sustained winds over a 6-8 period with gusts up to 75 mph. Much better than yesterday's prediction. Still damaging conditions but not catastrophic. The folks down on the southwest coast will be hit the hardest. 10-15 foot storm surge with 100+ mph winds. Looks like Bula's folks in Tampa are gonna have to watch their top knots on this one.
"That storm surge can be deadly but you know all about that... the weather channel is doing their level best to make it sound like the end of the world. Don't misunderstand me, it's gonna get nasty especially for the folks around Tampa and that area. But these tv people drive me nuts with their overly dramatic presentations.
"I'll check back in tomorrow evening. We are expecting our worst conditions late Sunday night into Monday morning. Tell our forum brothers thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Tell Bula to keep positive thoughts. It's gonna get nasty here but if they've prepared they'll come through this just fine. I'm thinking of Bula's kinfolk and praying for them."
=======================================
My take on the news reporting. Isn't that the way, though? They try to make everything sound as bad as possible to get more viewers for as long as they can milk it. I've seen it with wind and rain storms and snow/ice storms here in the NW.... with catchy, scary names like Winter Vortex and Arctic Blast, etc, etc.

Yeah, came to same conclusion, weather channel folks are making hay while the wind blows. We just want data, factual when possible. Mom-n-law non-functional now. She doesn't do flight/fight, she is a panic in place person. Anxiety attacks and such. Like adrenalin rushes, they cannot be sustained for long or multiple times without a crash. So, she is not talking on phone anymore. My wife a wreck now, she is used to talking to both parents, off and on multiple times aday. Storm looks to be aiming right at Tampa. They are in a boarded over concrete block house inland up to rt75. They have supplies and large generator. They are near to an upper arm of Bullfrog Creek, not sure of height above, storm surge maybe worst risk.

Thank you all. Paul, be careful. Watch out for flying panels off mobile homes.

Sorry Bud....I'm not smart....I'm slowwwww.....I get it right sooner or later.....but I almost always get it right. That's why I do what I do. No problem, friend. A lot can get lost from keyboard to internet. Update from Paul #2:A friend 3 miles down the road from them had a generator stolen this morning. Looters have already been arrested in Brevard county. So Paul is getting out in front of the problem: The worst weather shows up for Paul late tonight into tomorrow morning. Prayers for all in the path of the storm.
