I’ve made some progress on The One and have some pics. Anybody willing to host and post them for me? I can text or email them. I’m pressed for time in my shop! Anytime, and my pleasure, Fermin. Sending PM now. My thanks to DougB!!

I sure would like to see more pics of that leaf sight… It’s going to take quite a bit to regulate that triple flapper. Rest assured I’ll keep you posted as I progress.

Pictures from 2 Dogs/Fermin: Getting ready to mount the 3 leaf rear: Sights mounted. Extra tall to regulate for correct height: Alan Harton installed the firing pin and bushing they had to remove for welding. He went through the action and mounted the ERH: Here are the frame rail and recoil shield cuts Fermin and Alan finished this last Wednesday. Light Weight, Long Range, Flattop Target. Ready to shoot! All of this work was completed over the last several months that Fermin and Alan could get together.

I tell Alan that my hands tremble far less when he’s there to look over my shoulder! LOL!!
I have made a couple of changes from my original template which I will explain when I have a minute to sit down.

Where's the serial number, and I'm guessing the center blade is the shortest?

I love it, Im sure the various iterations of Colt “light weights” in Keith/Crofts time would have used aluminum grip frames had Ronnie been around!
Fermin, are just using a locking base pin?

You can’t tell by Fermin’s smile he is extra excited about this project moving forwards. 😜
I look forwards to handling that gun when it’s finished.

Yes Sir, that’s one of the template changes I made. Most might not know the original No5 latch on the Keith sixgun was broken. One of the “ears” that retained the lever had given up and broken off.

Now that is interesting simply because both the #5 latch guns Bowen built me and all my TLA guns had one side of the latch much shorter and tapered to allow the lever to return to the vertical position easier.

Now that is interesting simply because both the #5 latch guns Bowen built me and all my TLA guns had one dude of the latch much shorter and tapered to allow the lever to return to the vertical position easier. That’s exactly how Harton did mine. I guess we won’t ever know if the original was done differently or not.

Another template change was to the Aluminum Bisley gripframe. I had originally fit a No5 grip frame on this sixgun but the balance wasn’t there with the 7 1/2” barrel and to my eye the proportion was lacking as well. I looked real hard at Ronnie’s Wells No9 with its .400” extra length but it seemed to be over compensating. The standard Bisley in aluminum is just right. The proportion is there, the balance is perfect, and I shoot that grip frame the best. More, the aluminum grip frame was in keeping with the Croft light weight theme.

I’m getting older and starting to feel like I’m running out of time. Still, I do my best to work on things until I can’t make any more progress and then I work on the next thing and little by little things get done.
