Ok, so I am getting closer to being able to get back on this project a bit. In the meantime, I had this gorgeous piece of Walnut. I sent it out to Zane to not to long ago to have it stabilized via epoxy impregnation. This reduces the opportunity for this material to flex, shrink or warp. I have had this piece of wood for several years, my older brother who knows more about stock work than anyone I know said it was end grain and thus liable to warp. Well, it sat out in the garage and never moved. So, I figured it was time to do something special with it. So, Zane is going to fit some blanks up to fit the No5 frame on The One project sixgun. He is also going to fit a set to a No5 grip frame for Mike Barranti and a XR3 grip frame for Tank Hoover all from this same blank to make for a very unique set of 3. Quite appropriate considering Mike and Jeff are two of my very closest friends of many years. Here are some teaser pics of my frame on Zane's flattop. I do have to say, the pictures do not do this material justice. I can't wait to see the finished version or better, the 3 sets together....

OK, that Hurricane sure threw a wrench at my project progress. So this one is a long time coming. Finally got the welded up mainframe in the milling machine all indicated in and ready to flattop.

Here is the rough machined top strap with the 3 leaf folding rear sight and the factory Ruger barrel off the Hammer. This particular barrel is a ringer and was given to me by a close friend so I am almost dead certain it belongs on this project, especially since Jeff Hoover is a true admirer of the Grand Old Man of Sixgunning like myself....
