On the Bushnell, There are a good many guys using those and like them. I've heard...NF was making them for them but can't remember if there was any truth to that or not. Memory sucks, what can I say? Dur has one. Hopefully he can chime in. If you decide on that, let me know. I'll check local store here and they typically have them really low priced for some of them as the headquarters are a few miles down the road. They have several outlet stores in the area. Stock is varied depending on when you call. But I'd be happy to pick it up and mail it to you if you went that route. The new Vortex HD series is really nice. I'm impressed with them so far. Glass quality is exceptional and doesn't really give up anything to the S&B which is my favorite and the price is much more palatable!! Buddy has one of the eliminators. Works pretty well from what I've seen but it's a big bulky crazy looking thing. I also don't know how far out it will work. I doubt it would work for extreme distances due to laser beam divergence etc. Would be something to check into before heading that route. I prefer to dial my own

I know Burris markets them for hunting, but I don't think I'd want something that big & heavy on anything but a target shooter ... I'm kinda wrestling with max power for both the 338 & 6.5 X 284... the posi lock on the 338 is a 14X & when it's clear, seems like just about the right magnification... I go to 12 or 14 X on my "sporting" rifles... any time I've gone higher power than that, I've not been happy with the quality of the sight picture... but admittedly I've not used a 20 X variable that cost over $600.00 so I'm sure that's most of the problem... I do have a Unertl 15X & 20X... 15 is on a custom 22-250, & the 20X on a custom Remington Rolling block in a long range 32-40 set up... in essence, all of these are "longer range rifles... all are shooting to 300 yards right now... with so much to play with, make time & money for the 6.5 X 284 glass tougher to justify... at least right now

this is that rolling block when I was building it... full contour 8mm barrel, the burl wood stock & forearm are extremely heavy... the 3 piece steel butt plate not finished here, balances the gun nicely... they still need to be painted ( painting each plate in automotive metallic one red, one white, one blue ) over all build was to be a 60's looking bench gun

this is my long range CAS steel buffalo gun... in 40-65... I'll admit... the older I get, the more I want to shoot guns like this, but the more I "need" the magnification

MWM,
The Bushnell scopes are a great value - i recently sold my Bushnell DMR scope after running it for 2 years. Mine was the 3.5-21 with 5 mil/rev and no zero-stop, but since I was running it on a gasser and using holdovers with the G2 reticle, the lack of ZS and increased mil/rev was a moot point for me. I only sold it to try to have more consistency in my reticles (EBR-2C and H-59).
Supposedly there is a DMR2 scope in the works scheduled for release later this year.

Glass quality is exceptional and doesn't really give up anything to the S&B which is my favorite and the price is much more palatable!! I'm with Zeus...the Vortex Razor HDs are excellent. On top of that, the company and it's reps are great to work with, too. My department bought 4 of the 3-18x (EBR-2C MRAD reticle) this spring and we've been very pleased, both dialing and holding. I liked them so much, just last week I traded into a new 4.5-27x56 (same reticle) for my personal rifle. I've always believed the S&Bs set the standard, which is probably true, but the Vortex Razor HDs give up nothing to the S&B. And at about 1/2 the cost.

Ryan - like you, I've been very impressed by the clarity, durability, etc of the Gen 2 Razor line. So much so, it's now on the majority of my LR rigs.
Really looking forward to the new AMG offering for a lighter weight option, and the word on the street is that the glass is better than the Razor

SCHunter turned me onto them and I've put them side by side with S&B and ATACR versions and they are all so close, it's hard for normal eyes to distinguish differences. That's a cool problem to have when the glass is becoming more affordable and indistinguishable from the high dollar German glass.

Here is the 6 Creed with the Vortex Razor Gen 2 on it. I have to go check it tomorrow for my son. Season for youth is a little over a week out. This is a really cool "little" rifle. Built by Short Action Custom (SAC) on a Surgeon action with Krieger barrel and Manners stock. I never have been a big 6mm fan and honestly figured I'd spin a barrel in a different caliber when it was time to change but after using it at the range and a couple of hunts, I will replace with the same when it's time. I've come to really like the little round and its capabilities. This is the munchkins rifle but he seems to have come pretty fond of the little M40 style gun so we will see what he eventually does. Being that we will be hunting out of a blind this coming week, I figure we will use this one with the can and not have to deal with the noise.
