185 Berger Juggernaut with 43.3 grains Varget and BR2 primer in the M24. I'd have to look up the Loaded round details in regards to ogive but is fairly standard if I remember correctly. Interestingly, as you may know the M24 are built on LA receiver so the bullet could be loaded on out but GAP throats their rifles perfectly and it's is an absolute laser with loads that fit a standard SA.
ETA: 2.15" to Ogive on the Juggernaught. This is in New 2015 Lake City brass as well.
I have a boatload of 173 SMKs for the M40 and M1A but haven't loaded any of those yet that I remember. The 185s are awesome in the M40 for hunting. My son has had great results so far and accuracy is outstanding.

Glenn do you prefer the 6 creedmore over the 6.5? I am guessing they are both crazy accurate.

Depends on what you're using them for. 6 is nice, less recoil, you can basically spot your own hits. I shot a deer last year with it at 430 yards, I saw the blood splatter on the tree behind the deer through the scope. Pretty neat rifle. When I run it with the suppressor, it's like shooting a pellet gun, really makes the kids smile. No noise or recoil and they can ring steel a long way out. The recoil is modest as well on the 6.5. I think for a hunting gun, it may be a little better. More bullet choices etc but either is a great choice and more accurate than we are most days. I've only used the 6.5 on coyote but plan to use it a few times this year. Buddy has an antelope tag and I think I'll let him use that one as well if needed

Zeus, How much vertical MOA adjustment total is there on that U.S. Optics scope you have mounted on your M1-A? Thanks in advance. That is the 5-25x58 ER-25 with the GAP reticle. I think it has about 16-17 mils of vertical. All of these scopes except the NF which is an older rig on the M82A1 are Mil/mil. I don't really use MOA that much on these. If you need more, the S&B I think has a little more and the Vortex Gen2 Razor HD like I have on the SnipeTac has the most I could find on a good quality scope for these purposes.

I ask because I think I'm going to be setting up another long range rig in .300 Win. Mag. (Remington 700 Sendero). I was going to use the Leupold Mark IV 16X 40MM. The reason is it has a full 140 MOA, (70 MOA either side of zero). With a 40 MOA base that would allow me to hold dead on out past 2,000 yards.

Use the 230 Berger Hybrid with Retumbo. SCHunters rifle is amazing with that load. Basically has same ballistics trajectory wise as my Lapua with a lighter bullet slightly.
The 16x MK4s were great scopes.

Will that stabilize in a 1 in 10" twist barrel? I know a 220 will.

That bullet takes the Win mag way beyond what we usually think it's capabilities are. Truly a game changer for a LA built rifle. Without getting into special actions and component cost for a Lapua, it will hang right there with it. Almost the same drop and windages basically. Just not quite as big a bullet when it gets there. But we have shot his 300 to 2000 in NM a couple of trips now.

does anyone play with the 6.5 X 284 anymore??? I have an older NOS BRNO long action I had blueprinted & fit with a 6.5 match grade full untapered barrel... it's in a bench rest laminated stock & has custom 20 MOA mounts... still have not dedicated the funds for glass for it yet, & I need to do final finishing on the stock... my current rifle range goes to 300 yards & my other long & short action bolt rifles do fine to 300 yards... I'm planning on building a portable bench rest, that I can run down & plant on the end of my driveway... angling over to the backstop, will get me 600 yards... any longer than that, I'd have to shoot barrels that I placed in the fields after the crops come out... couple pictures early in the build...

I think the brown hunting one in SCs post above is exactly that. He has a matching XP100 custom that is a laser in the 6.5x284. We may need those pics too! I bet yours will be a shooter when she has eyes!!

scopes I'm looking at are + or - $1,500.00... so it's hard to dedicate that much money when there is SO much other gun stuff to buy... also considering it was built as a dedicated long range rifle & I don't really have a good place to shoot it... yet... got a few boxes of Lapua Scenars & a box of new Lapua cases... ( spelling ) I bought when we were working on the rifle... should be stocking up on some reloading components

Lots of deals out there on non ZS NF NXS scopes if you keep your eye open. Works great, just not quite as good glass wise as say the new ATACR line but for hard use and range use, you can't beat them. They dial true everytime and work like a champ. Once you start to hit that 1500-2000 mark, the glass changes and the scopes all start to get pretty tight in performance. I have several of the MK4 style scopes and while they are decent scopes, I wouldn't put them in the same park as the NXS line from NF for durability or repeatability. The tubes of the variable MK4s are thin, basically rebadged VX3 style setups. The straight 10 and 16 are different animals. Thick tubes and tanks overall. The NF tubes are very stout. Let me know what your looking for and I'll keep my eyes open.
