Shot my 416 Stevens .22 rifle about a box of ammo. Enough to get it back on at 100 after changing mounts. Feet were getting cold by then, so called it a day.

Nothing. Then again I was predator hunting and nothing came to my calls. If something did it would have been a TC Contender with a Super 14 barrel chambered in 22 WRM.

Beautiful day here in the Bourbon Capitol. Took the 416 Stevens .22 rifle ,cricket 22 pistol and Encore 410 GNR out to play. Been moving scopes around so got the rifle zeroed ok at 100 , The 410 gnr. did not do well with cast bullets today, but turned on nicely with the 210 gr XTP. Usually have the range to myself mid week but a couple of lady's showed up today, one working toward her qualification for concealed carry, one instructing . She was having some issues with her form, grip, and her Taurus 9 mm pistol with the most awful trigger long, spongy ,and lots of gravel in it . I know the instructor so offered any help needed. Worked on her stance ,grip, sight alignment, still not good, so asked her if she would like to try my S&W Shield pistol. Let her try the grip and dryfire the trigger several times before live ammo, she liked both. Talked her thru the shots and she was shooting 100% better immediately, didn't tell her it was a .45 and not a 9 mm till she was thru shooting . Asked her if she noticed a difference recoil wise ,and she replied not really except I can hit with this one, and it feels better. Enjoy helping new shooters get started down the right path. I did really watch close her reaction to the first shot. A big smile instead of a grimace tells you a lot. Didn't get all I wanted to do accomplished , but when I can help someone else get started down the path I love, it was worth every minute. Sorry for the long read but, IT WAS A GOOD DAY.

About a month ago I mounted red dots on these and finally got a chance to take them out, a S&W 624 .44spl and a Ruger Blackhawk in 10MM both off a rest at 25 yards. The Ruger is new and this was the first time shooting it, my first two shots the far outside left and right I knew I had pulled so I reloaded two more and shot the center group. It has kind of a rough trigger but after a good break in period I think every thing will smooth out fine. The S&W was just fantastic right off the bat, this was just the second group out of it after the first six rounds getting it on paper. With a little tweaking she will be a tack driver. Very pleased with both of them.

Finally had a chance to break out some Longshot and test it in the FA 83 454. This is 15.0g behind a 240 Sierra JHC at 25 yards. Recoil was very manageable, looking forward to working with this powder in other applications.
