Today it was another gun from Oregon that got the nod. USFA Double Eagle with 3–1/2” barrel in 45 Colt. The target is the first five rounds from 25 yards. Pretty decent for a half blind retired guy. It’s a pretty gun. Thanks Robb! Tim

Today was a woods walking day with my son. The 22 Ruger single six got to go play, and my son had his Ruger 10-22. Several cans were assaulted. Several flocks of sandhill cranes were seen but they must have been lost, they were headed north.

Had an old friend on the hill today. Loaded a lathe up for him in his truck.
He brought a new rifle out to test drive, 30 caliber self-loader. He used to carry a 240B as his daily gig, so this is a good practical piece for him.
Got him sorted with a good usable zero. He'll be back for the walking hills course next time.
All good.

Sunday some friends came over after church. Their son (recent ex military) gifted each of them with a gun. The Sig 45 for Fred, the Wilson 9mm for Peggy. I showed Fred how to field strip it and where to lube it. The Wilson has a little notch to help prevent the slide stop from scratching the frame. I've shot a number of 1911's but never, ever one this refined.

You ain't got no model 12. You ain't got no mountain gun. Those two together would make a nice picture.

Two hunerd caliber Idaho special. Shoots a 800 grain "slug" two football fields Curious as to the burning rate of Pantene? Would a slower hair spray give you enough velocity increase to get to 250? I wonder if you went with a lighter softer alloy, say a red irish potato, would stay stable at 200? I can tell you're using a hot primer already.
