I finally got to take the 2 Dogs 32-20 lightweight to an actual range yesterday. I later told him I want my money back. It only took down 5 steel pig targets in the first 6 shots. Surely my 61 year old diabetic eyes can’t be blamed for the miss!😀 Don't you dare set that thing down on a chair Robb Barnes. And how in the world could you miss a whole pig with that sixgun? Even if you were shooting one of Dicks loads the cast bullet would have at least "bounced" off the steel piggie....

Looks like a good start. Any idea what velocity you are getting? Ive been messing around with my No.1 45-70 and while it shoot pretty well, the recoil is beating the crap out of me lately. But we may be running in 2 different pressure classes.

lsg,
49gr - 2032 fps 50gr - 2006 fps 51gr - 2051 fps 52gr - 2093 fps 53gr - Battery Died on first shot, but guessing it's somewhere around 2100-2110fps.
I'm good with any of those velocities with this bullet, so I'm not going to chase speed... just fine tune for accuracy.

A bunch of folks shot the 414 Supermag and the TLA 5 shot 45 Colt at the range today. I must say a 265 grain cast performance LFN being pushed by 26 grains of 1680 was making steel plates and steel turkeys really dance!😀

Squawberry, sorry that's the 300gr TSX-FN. I haven't loaded the 350grainers I have sitting on the bench yet. I edited my post above to fix the error (just goes to show ya how careful you have to be getting/posting data from/onto online message boards!!!). At least the info on the target picture was correct. That said, it must have been fate or pure dumb luck today because I think I found the Barnes 300gr TSX-FN load for my Ruger No.1. I loaded up 5 more strings and I'm glad I played with the "Halfs" today. Not sure why, but my powder measure was .1-.2grs over on most of the throws today EXCEPT for the four perfect throws in a row it gave me when I was loading 49.5grs. Maybe my measure and the Ruger had a meetng last night while I was asleep, but whatever the case, that's the load that stood out at the 100yd testing today... Velocities (new battery but still had a couple whacky readings): 49gr - 1992 fps 49.5gr - 1998 fps 50gr - 2038 fps 50.5gr - 2053 fps 51gr - 2074 fps Maybe it was a fluke, but I'm going to stick with this load (the Barnes bullets are too expesive to plink with). Need to dail in the irons, re-zero the red dot and call it good. It was nice having the entire range to myself again (2 nights in a row), but I fear that's because people are hesitant to shoot with the new ammo regulations taking effect next month. The breeze was PERFECT... 6 o'clock and just strong enough to cool the barrel between strings and make the afternoon heat bearable. Going to help a friend set-up her 3-gun rifle in the morning and then participate in the local club's Silhouette matches on Saturday, so need to prepare for that. It's been a nice week off work. ETA: As you can see by my notes... burnt H322 smells Goooooooooood.

Went to my friend Andy`s Pennsylvania farm the other day to get a few rounds on paper. After two day`s of cleaning copper from the barrel and a new scope my Fa`s 454 was giving one hole 25yd groups. Shooting a new Taurus in 218 Bee proved interesting using Hornady`s 45gr JHP. I will number the eight chambers to see what each is capable of... The standard 8 3/8"S&W 460 and another scope liked 300gr JFP`s. Andy shot his 45 Super, 410GNR and a neat custom 22 Mag Ruger. In the photo below I am replacing the firing pin on the 454. I`ve learned to carry an extra pin, spring and driver bit when traveling with my Freedom`s. Many years ago while hunting at the SCI YO hunt 45 man (Rey) gave me an extra pin for a FA 357 at the start of the hunt to keep the gun shooting. All in all a great day......

"What did I shoot today?"
NOTHING darn it. And today was our monthly USPSA match at my range. I had my back act up & go out on me Tuesday,, and I'm slowly getting back into shape. I didn't want to chance pulling it again by "running & gunning!"
So,, while gunfire was all around me today,, I didn't shoot anything!
James,, looks like y'all were having fun!

Nothing yet today, but spent the last week in Cody at the 2019 Linebaugh Big Bore shoot. Lots of shooting through out the days, lots of food and conversation at night. More of a reunion of sorts of like minded people, many travel great distances to attend. Already looking forward to next year.

I haven't shot my PPC revolver since last year and it was time to see what I could do! I was using Federal 148 gr. factory loads and not doing very well (patterns!) Then I switched to my usual handload and it started shooting great again! I guess it just doesn't like Federal Gold Medal Match! Gasp! Bullet: Berry’s 148 gr. Plated DEWC Powder: Hodgdon Titegroup 3.3 grs. Primer: Federal 100 Case: Federal .38 Special (Sized with RCBS .357 Carbide Die and expanded with RCBS Wadcutter Expander) LOAL: 1.225 (Taper Crimp) Twelve shots off-hand at 25 yards. Need to try this load off the bags...
