My Cricket 22 pistol and an Air Arms S400 PCP in .177 cal. in the backyard. Strong switchie winds and an airgun make for a challenging day. An 8.4 gr pellet at 500 fps acts to a puff of wind let alone a 20 mph gust.

The first two pictures are from a Freedom Arms 83 357 that I was working on getting sighted in. This is one of the groups at 25 yards. Still need to work on getting it to point of aim. But this is definitely looking quite promising. And for one of the other threads, I was shooting the buffalo bore 180 grain ammo that is a stated velocity of 1500. I actually expected more given this has a 9-in barrel and they're known for being built tight. The second two pictures are a 500 Linebaugh with 410 grain cast bullets and HS6. By the time I left the range it was 35° and the wind was blowing pretty good.

It was a fruitful day. It started with me teaching my daughter to shoot the SSK-50 chambered in 357 Max. She's a tad young yet so I loaded it with 38 Spl. but she did very well from 25 yds. Maybe she'll have some luck in the upcoming youth deer season. And I ended the day bagging my first buck with a compound bow. I'm a little ashamed it took me 20 years to get one with a compound bow but between work, farming and kids, I rarely get out for bow season anymore.

As is my custom, I fired a cylinder from one of my revolvers. Today, I chose the Model 28-2 that I customized nearly 5 decades ago. I switched holsters from the one built for the Model 22-4 to one built for the Model 28-2. Into the chambers went 6 rounds of 230 grain hardball. I holstered the revolver and then went about my business. We had rain off and on today, mostly on, but I still got a fair amount done outside. At some point, I saw a moderate sized pine cone and the slope of a hill. I drew and fired, double action. First shot was on and the cone jumped. Next two made it move but we’re just under. Number 4 split the cone and 5 and 6 drilled the two parts. I paced the distance at 11 of my paces., roughly 30 feet.
I reloaded and went about the rest of my day.
