Smith Model 21, Glock 35 and sighting in new Burris scope on the Springfield Armory Saint. Wandered into the LGS last week and they were having a 25th anniversary sale; 50% off the Burris LPVO scope with lighted reticle, just what my AR needed.

Took my Colt Anaconda 44 Magnum to the range for testing. Shoots well but could benefit from a trigger job, hopefully Heffron Precision can work their magic on it! Five shots offhand at 10 yards. Bullet: Hornady 200 gr. XTP-HP Powder: VihtaVuori N105 18.5 grs. Primer: Winchester Large Pistol Case: PPU

Fox squirrel at 20 paces this morning with the six-inch Smith 617. My son and I were out getting blinds ready for the season and I happened to see a bit of movement up ahead of us. Modified Weaver, right in the mouth.
My son was beaming. I kinda think he may have forgotten that the old man can shoot...

It was yesterday but I shot a cva 350 legend takedown rifle. Neat little gun. Shot my 45 colt contender pistol a bit too.

had a shootist buddy show up for some revolver shooting this weekend. he brought a newly purchased used 41 mag Ruger Blackhawk with a 2x Leupold. he had some 210 gr xtp's loaded at 1400fps. we were shooting at our local range where no steel is allowed so we posted some butcher paper with 8-inch dots and a vertical line to determine drop at 150 and 200. He was shooting from a bench off bags He was able to post 3.25" at 150 yards with 8" of drop and 4.5" group at 200 28" of drop IIRC. doesn't matter the drop as we figured if he held his duplex junction on target he was spot on. truly impressed with his 41 mag.

They are both smooth and crisp - but that's too heavy. My 1980 Python puts the new one to shame. Blew my first round after switching to my S&W Model 29, really hope Heffron Precision can fit me in!

Had a really good day as far a south Texas is concerned, high 80’s and low humidity allowed me to check 4 guns and 9 different loads out at 50 yards. FA 555 with 300gr. SP at 1450fps…..1.5” grp at 50, 2” hi,……385gr. PCHP at 1500fps 2” grp at 50, zero at 50, that load needs a half grain drop in powder. SW 657 with 250gr. PCHP at 1130fps……1.5” grp at 50, 1.5” hi 41 Redhawk with 270gr. PCLFN at 1440fps, 2” grp at 50, 2” hi,……230gr. Cast WFN accuracy poor 5-6” at 50, 1.5” grp at 50, 1.5”hi,….250gr. PCHP, 1485fps, 4” grp at 50 414sm with 270gr. PCLFN at 1500fps, 2” grp, 2” hi at 50,……270gr Hawk SP 1450fps, also 2” grp and 2” hi at 50,……235gr Hawk SP, 1450fps, 1.5” grp and 1.5” hi at 50
I find it frustrating that the Redhawk is so close to the 414sm, I don’t know if I’ve got a “fast” Redhawk or a “slow” 414sm, but it’s tough to justify the 414sm and 5-6grs. of more powder for less than 100fps difference.
