The Number 5 went for $70,000.
His long range custom Colt .44 Special went for $13,000.

His engraved personal carry Pre-29 revolver with ivory grips went for $18,500.
The Pre-29 revolver presented to him by Carl Hellstrom, President of S&W, went for $17,000.
His real Pre-29 carry revolver with all the wear went for $17,500.
His zero series .357 Mag went for $25,000.
His registered magnum went for $11,000.
The Jim Corbett rifle went for $230,000.
His .333 OKH that he used to take 30 head of game in Africa went for $11,000.

Close to $500,000 total in the numbers above. The Corbett gun was the treasure it seems.

Thanks...
I am somewhat surprised that at the prices that some of the guns brought that the Colt SAA Flat Top Target .44 Special didn't bring more money...it is supposed to be the only .44 Special FTT ever made by Colt.
$20K for the pair of 57s...seems like a bargain....

As a Colt collector, I thought the Flat Top Colt was not original. But then again, the .44 Spl caliber ment that Elmer undoutedly shot it.

Did Colt actually build any then? Brian

Probably not then...The FTT was out of production years before the .44 Special was invented... It is funny but this mis-information was also on the USFA website in the header for their FTT...
Who was the owner of the collection before the auction, Ted, the family or a third party?

It saddens me to see the collection broke up but I am hoping htey landed in good hands. I can't believe #5 went that cheap. If the gent from Alabama got Corbetts rifle you will see it go hunting on TV........
