Don't know that I had a dollar value in my head on the #5, but somehow $70,000 strikes me as a bit low

Will we ever know who bought the #5? I am hoping that it went back to Idaho and we will see an article about it in Handloader soon comparing it to the re-make.

I assume that was the gavel price? So add 15% for the auction house and then their ivory permitting cost makes it a bit over $80,000 out of pocket for the gun. I was betting on the $125,000 range.
Wonder who the lucky buyer is.

Thanks for the update Mr Taffin.
I too thought the No.5 would sell well north of $100,000.
I sure hope and pray it goes to a good home that will feed it some cast Keith bullets from time to time.
Still makes me sad to see the collection broken up. Now I understand the realitites and dynamics behind such a decision by the family to sell the collection off. But that doesn't change the melancholy mood I'm in right now.

Looked like everything brought a pretty good price, with some deals to be had relative to value. Wonder if anyone here was able to get anything.
