The CCH on the Sheriff is incredible ! Thanks. I have two of these and all the ones in this 50 gun run have terrific case colors. Serial prefix for them is SMD. the other 50 gun Sheriff configurations each have their own serial prefixes too. This one is much my favorite... The only one that surpasses it to me is the USFA sheriff with the Bisley style hammer , long fluted cylinder, prefixed US serial, and has a circled US rollmark on the mainframe. She's a beaute.

Very nice, Rob. Outstanding and note testing stocks on all of them. Factory? .. And if not, who did the fine work for you?

That's incredible, Rob. Beautiful craftsmanship. One of my prized USFA guns here- one reason because it's serial is my and my late father's home state and his birth year. 44Spl Flattop Target Bisley 7-1/2" nitre appointments, and factory fancy wood grips. They're not looking quite as fancy as Robs though!

Not new to this forum but I dropped off for a number of years and just re-joined. I've returned to my roots in that I started my journey as a hand gunner shooting single action revolvers and I'm getting back into them after about 10 years away from owning one. The sticker shock of looking at Colt prices sent me looking for USFA guns and this is the first one I bought. A pre-War, black powder frame, 45 Colt with one piece wood stocks. Sadly, since I bought it through a website I didn't realize it was one of the dreaded Uberti parts guns that USFA assembled in the old Colt building before they started making guns from all American parts. Because this barrel length, caliber and configuration (black powder frame) was exactly what I wanted I jumped on it before doing enough research. A classic example of buyer beware. I paid too much…but at least it's nice to look at. (smile) Dave
