I will have to describe that Gunslinger with a quote from a fine American seasonal movie- Christmas Vacation.
"It's a beaute, Clark! It's a beaute !"

Nice looking stags on your Gunslinger. Do you know if they're factory or Patrick Grashorn's , etc?

Pretty Sure they(only the Dome Blue-CC one) are stamped American Eagle, could be Eagle and American (for Elk)-so not factory unless some connection-I have another one with the same grips too, I think this is the firm. I will double check them and report back: Update, I checked the grips on the Gunslinger and they are not marked, the grips on the Single action are thou-and both grips look alike, they are stamped in a square "Eagle Grips Handcrafted in USA" Sorry for confusion with American Eagle. eaglegrips.com/colt-saa-standard-size-and-premium-grips/314-colt-single-action-army-american-elk-grips.html

My apologies. You provided the information in your photo post and then I asked the question. Apparently I was so awestruck by the grips that I didn't read the line above it.

Sir, you certainly have one outstanding collection, do you collect other brands also? I have a chance to buy a NIB Rodeo 45 colt 5.5 for $895, should I grab it? Seems as though prices have softened some recently. I would value your opinion. Mark

Seems as though prices have softened some recently. I would value your opinion. Mark Thanks Mark. I do collect a good bit of Colt 22 single actions, Colt SAA's , and some Ruger and a smattering of other models and brands. If if it's truly NIB condition, that is a good price in my opinion. Things have slowed down, but mint and/or Unfired condition Rodeo with no turn line will still be $1100 to $1150 -$1200 depending on caliber and barrel length... and it would be a rare good deal to get it for less than $1K. I don't believe you will find a completed Gunbroker USFA Rodeo auction on a NIB Rodeo to beat that deal. Even during slow times, I don't feel like we will be seeing Out of production- NIB condition USFA's sliding back to USFA's original sell prices... Which was about $600 on Rodeos. I think it's sort of settled out as the dust settled from 2012-2014's rush to buy up USFA's. All just my opinion though.

Thanks for the reply, sounds like we share the same interests in firearms . I have to admit that I'm late to the USFA brand. Was just ready to order a new Bisley Target just about the time that they closed up shop.

Hey Mark, I've literally heard slight variations of that same statement so many times on gun forums ... ( I was ordering/had ordered/about to order a flattop Bisley .. ) that I thought we had talked before. Flattop target is top of the list for many. I was relatively late to the game myself. USFA had not closed the doors, but there was no ordering nor any just from the factory guns to be found. The one good thing for me was that since so many hadn't known or realized the storm was on the horizon, I acquired several locally and many online before the sudden price hike when the doors closed. I am honest in saying that I believe I purchased the last NIB from the factory- 12/22 in 4-3/4" on gunbroker from Acrylink and my cousin bought the 5-1/2" from him on the next day. He actually didn't use the BUY Now button either and was the only bidder and won it. Got his a hundred bucks cheaper- I have another story on the Bisley. Wasn't the Target model, but Alex Hamilton of Ten Ring advertised a Bisley for sale on his website. Just sheer pure luck that I stumbled across his website in searching for USFA guns. This was in 2011 I believe. Ihe had just listed it and I was first on the list. He hadn't even received the gun yet but had gotten word from the factory apparently that it was coming. I kept checking for several days and he had me down for it. He had even accrued a lengthy backup list on it for all the inquiries. Well. Reluctantly he called me to say that it was actually ordered well over a year ago for a customer, and they saw it for sale in his website and really was not happy. I think the person got angry about it and Alex was between a rock and a hard spot. I saw no need in causing a fuss over it- said put my money on this other gun and he eventually sold me another- and it happened to have a serial number of my birth year. So I couldn't dismiss that ! Long story longer... Two weeks after I missed out on the Bisley , an Unfired NIB condition nickel Bisley with factory fire blued screws popped up for sale online for several hundred cheaper... It looks exactly like this. .. I was certainly glad that I hadn't spent that first Bisley money.
