Cholla, that's great shooting! I'm a little jealous of your shooting arrangement, but it's good to see you putting it to good use! Thanks, but it's mostly LUCKY shooting. I would never lead anyone to believe I can shoot 7" or 8" 100 yd. groups from a sitting position day in, day out. My shooting arrangement really is a blessing in that I can keep ammo loaded and stored, then load and shoot on an "as-needed" basis.

Loaded up "THE PIG HAMMER OF THOR" today:
.458 Lott 250 grain Non-con CEB, 5 each of: -82 grains of RL7 -70 grains of A5744
295 grain Non-con CEB, 5 each of: -82 grains of RL7 -65.5 grains of A5744
We shall see how these perform in the Lott. I am doing a ton of load development and trying to come up with a bullet weight combo in CEB's for everything from ground squirrels to elephant!

Back to the Dillon 550 after church today. It will be cast 185 SWCs, Remington primer, and Bullseye in mixed 45 ACP cases. Time to get ready for the next week of shooting. May jump on the SDB and spit out a few 32 wadcutters with a 98 grain DEWC and AA #5 too...

In from the bench. 300 rounds of 45 ACP ready for the range. Press is prepped to load 300 more. Fifty round sessions are going pretty well. Elbow feels good. Hand is toughening up. Thinking this week I'll expose my elbow to 100 rounds of pocket pool 45 shooting in one session on Monday. Gives me two days to recover before I hit it again on Thursday.

I love my 550(s) -- have two of them. Lucked into 3,000 laser cast 240gr .429s (yes I know the current production is .431) for $75/1,000. Anyway, first run with 6.5 gr of HP38 resulted in pretty significant leading with my new (2nd one) M69. Tried 5.0gr of WST (same powder bar setting as 6.5 HP38) w/the 240gr Laser cast .429. -- Very slight leading after 50 rounds. Ran the orig 6.5 HP39/240gr .429" thru a 629 PC w/.4295 throats -- no leading -- go figure.
Life is good!

Working on antique stuff right now... 2 weeks ago, I loaded up 600 rounds of 32 S&W ( 3 different load levels ) this last week I finished up... well I have 50 nickel cases left to load... 650 - 38 S&W ( also 3 load levels ) this week I'll be loading up 250 rounds of 44 American Bulldog... I'm pulling down 250 rounds of handload blackpowder rounds, with a few smokeless loads mixed in, that I traded for... cases are mixed headstamp 44 special shortened, & rims thinned, bullets are 160 grain soft lead heal seated, I knocked out the old primers & wet tumbled the cases to get the black residue out... my Bulldog was unfired when I bought it, & so far has only had Trailboss loads in it ( BTW, if anyone knows where I can get a mold, or replacement for those 44 heal seated bullets ) once those are done, it's time to fill all my cowboy load cases... I'll be doing about 1,500 each of 38 special & 45 Colt with Trailboss & cast lead bullets

Today I loaded 84 rounds of 38 special to replace what was spent yesterday. Then I decided to prep a couple boxes of 38 brass i found laying around. Sizing and depriming with a Lee Hand Press, I'm pretty sure I did 10,000 rounds. Maybe less, but it felt like 10,000.

Today, I loaded 15 rounds of .44 Special- 5.0 grs. of Clays and a 253 gr. cast SWCHP. Then I shot them out of my 4 3/4" Uberti. Then I loaded 10 rounds- 3.8 grs. Clays, then shot them out of my Cimarron 7 1/2" Open Top. Then I loaded the 10 of the same load under a 260 gr cast SWC and shot them all out of the Open Top. All in all, a fairly unproductive evening. I have a difficult time accumulating loaded ammo with my load-and-shoot ways.
Maybe tomorrow will be better
