been working on boring everyday cartridges lately... loading a summer supply for my snubbies... 32 H&R Magnum with 85 & 100 grain XTP's, 38 Special for my new LCR-X with 125 grain XTP's & 44 Special for my 396 with 240 grain XTP's
after I get those done... in a couple weeks ( I don't have much loading time right now ) it'll be 44 Magnum for my custom Dan Wesson Snubbie, & 454 Casull for my Ruger Alaskan

Loaded some 500JRH last night. Was reminded that I'll have to make more brass before summer. I'm not looking forward to that project!
Also working on 9mm. Hope to test those tonight or tomorrow.

Doubled charged a 45 ACP case last week. Kind of knew it happened. One those oops! instances. Hated that it got dumped into a bin with 100 matching cartridges. Very glad that it was a batch of my paper punching loads. A little loud, swelled the case a bit, and shot a bit low but other than that worked fine.

Did 200 9mm today. Well, 196- I fumbled my primers and they went everywhere. I managed to find all but 4. 4.9gr WSF, mixed brass, 124gr rainier round nose with WSP primers.

44-40 for the new Uberti '73 rifle. Neat gun, shoots great. Loaded up some Nosler 200gr .429 JHP's I got a hold of, with 2400. It shot real well before with some other bullets that I am now out of.

Some more 9mm, and some test loads for 41 mag- 7.2gr Green dot, 215 LSWC; and 8.0 Unique, 215 LSWC. Decided I am sick of how poorly Unique meters through my Dillon powder measure, so I polished the inside of the measure. Will see if that makes a difference.

Hi...
Put together 200 rounds of .44Mag a couple of nights ago.
Mixed brass, 10 grs of Unique with a 240gr LSWC (commercial cast).
This is my general purpose all-around and plinking load for all of my .44Mags. Shoots great in my S&W29, SBH, Virginian Dragoon and Dan Wesson. I need to clean some other brass and load up some jacketed loads for more serious (read: hunting) applications.
Next up will probably be .45ACP, .44Special and then .41Mag. Those will be primarily cast bullets, I may load a couple hundred .41Mag with a 210gr Hornady HP/XTP for groundhogs or for a hiking load where there are black bears. Need to do an inventory on loaded .357Mag rounds before I consider if they need replenished. After that, I need to load some .45AutoRim.
.38spl and 9mm can wait a few weeks...I'll be needing at least a thousand each of those by mid-April.
Once all of that is loaded, I can start with the new caliber...40S&W. I have everything except some plated bullets...not ordered yet,not sure if I want to start with 155 or 180gr bullets. So far, factory 180s seem a bit more accurate out of this new S&W M&P40. More practice and experience is required before I decide what bullet weight to start with.
The need for more and more loaded rounds is fast pushing me into the need to acquire a progressive press. I have been evaluating a Hornady LNL and a Dillon 650. I see things about each that I like...hard decision to make.

375SM, I have 3, 650's and cannot be more pleased with both the product and the customer service from Dillon. While Hornady has excellent customer service as well, Dillon has been in the metallic progressive loading market far longer than any other current maker I can think of, I've loaded in excess of 100k rounds on my first two 650's.
As for loading I just did 100, 300 win mags using once fired LC brass, this is for practice for a long range match that is fast approaching. 190SMK, MagPro powder, and CCI primers, the new barrel is proving "fast" as velocity is 3340fps, with no pressure signs. The load is just below manufacturers MAX, and the combination of load and rifle are giving 1/2 moa accuracy at 400/500 when I read the wind right.

Hi...
" I have 3, 650's and cannot be more pleased with both the product and the customer service from Dillon."
Thanks for the input...no idea which way I will end up going at this point.
Will need to redesign the reloading room to accommodate whichever press I choose. My current bench isn't large enough to add a progressive with my RockChucker. bench-mounted APS and powder measure set-up.
Thinking about purchasing or building a new reloading bench for whatever progressive I get. That will probably mean getting rid of a desk and work table I have in that area.
This would be a lot easier if I had unlimited space and money.

Not today but this past week: 300 .223 with 25 gr RE15 and Hornady 55 gr SPs, 200 .44 spl 7.5 gr Unique and 240 lswc and 100 .44 mag with 10 gr Unique and the same 240 LSWC. Nothing really spectacular but they all work. Picked up a new toy today and somehow those .44 spls disappeared!

pbcaster45, that second group kills me, ain't that the way it always goes!
Last night i loaded up 70 44 Specials with 4.2gr of trail boss under a commercial cast 240gr SWC. Tried it last weekend it just plain shot. I'll try again to prove it was a fluke. Kind of pleasant to shoot too!
