For the majority of my life I have been an escapist reader. As a young'un, if it wasn't written by one of the masters of sci-fi, I did not have time for it. Somewhere along the line I began to diversify, got bit hard by the African hunting bug (still am), got into my dad's stash of Louis L'amour, and a few years back discovered Stephen Hunter. My reading slowed down a bit while I was gainfully employed, but now I'm retired and manage to sneak a late night or two in with a good book occasionally. I devote most of my time to reloading, shooting, and trying to help my grandson avoid the pitfalls his grandfather stepped right square into....might be a full time job.

I have too many interests to focus on any of them to my liking - not enough time or money. I feel your pain! I lack time, money and SPACE! I tell people I have ADHD: Attention Deficit Hobby Disorder. Mine tend to rotate fairly regularly and include traditional hot rods and kustoms (yes, with a "k"), endurance and road racing from the early days of F1 through the various sports car series such as the DTM and Le Mans, drag racing from the '60s, aviation in general but primarily from just before WWI through the mid-50s (especially the times of experimenting and transitioning to monoplanes between the wars and to jets after WWII) and really just mechanical things in general throughout the Industrial Age. Photography is in there as well because I like gathering period pictures of the above and taking my own at shows and such. Things I'd like to pursue are learning woodworking and stained glass. Mom and Dad did stained glass in the 80s and Dad gave me the tools and materials he still had a couple of years ago. Now it's a matter of getting the garage cleaned out enough, schedules matched up and waiting for the garage to get below 100*F. As far as collections, I'm down to two: a small collection of WWI German Navy pictures and postcards and 75-80 Japanese Imperial Army and Navy sake cups that date from the Russo-Japanese War to about the mid-1930s.
