Mainly its spending time with the family. The 6 year old keeps me going, with work, time at home and with family sometimes seems hard to find. When I have time, I like to sit back and cook on the smoker. I don't think you ever fully master it, I find that I keep trying to get better food and tweaking things almost every time so it keeps it interesting. It's relaxing to me even if you are doing a ton of food at once which becomes serious work for about 14 hours or so depending on what you are cooking variety wise....

Music-wise, I listen to everything but I've been into the bosa nova and anything by Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond since I was a little kid in the early 70's. I also love me some MJQ and Duke Ellington solos

Collecting knives, mainly custom hunters and bird/trout style. Any type of fishing, conventional, fly fishing, center pinning. Looking foward to steelhead season. Also hunting as much as I can. Bow hunting for deer I enjoy more so than firearms anymore. But now this year my area has changed from shotgun only to rifle. So that has got my interest in gun season more. Now I can use some of my lever guns. Also love to duck hunt and turkey hunt. Family is always top priority with 3 boys. One 10 year old and two 7 year olds.
Forgot one thing good bourbon and whisky(scotch or Irish).

Guns, Shooting, Hunting and Fishing ... not necessarily in that order. And I don't do much hunting any more.

For the last 2 years, it's been finishing my AAS in Medical Laboratory Technology. Once upon a time, I was very into guitar. Played in a band. Built guitars. Had a job lined up as a luthier, right as the economy tanked in '07. Sigh.... Built this beauty for a friend in Austria. Semi-hollow black limba body & black limba neck, cocobolo fretboard, nice flamed maple top. With the pair of P90s, she absolutely wailed. Also built this little beast for myself (actually first guitar I ever built). Ribbon mahogany body, perfectly quartersawn, dark mahogany neck. Massive sustain & very articulate. Macassar ebony 'board w/2mm abalone dot inlays. Last year, circumstances came together allowing me to get back on a bike. Obviously, my Super Glide has become my latest hobby. I do like a nice dram, now & again. My personal faves are Islay malts & pure pot stilled Irish whiskeys. Past that, I've got 3 hooligan Dachshunds to keep me entertained.

Fishing was my first outdoor pursuit. Bluegills still draw my interest. I've surf fished Assateaque, Nags Head. Ive night fished Tampa Bay and Pierce Inlet. Trout, Steelhead. Go ice fishing too. Then there were yrs when I only bowhunted. Also backpacked, rock climbed, and mtn climbed.

I spent a lifetime in machinery and machinery systems engineering but I was also a biker, hard core. I raced cross country desert for 15 years then hung up biking for 20 years due to workload. When I retired and moved back to arid country, I bought another off-road bike and I am punishing it. My GSP thinks the Polaris ATV is his and he gets to go for a ride about once a day.
