As a follow up, I would like to thank this forum for being a great source of information and inspiration. I have learned a lot here, in addition to reading Whitworth's excellent books. Keep up the good work.
I can't say enough good things about Jack Huntington and his shop. Great work and turnaround time for a reasonable cost. Prior to his grip modification, the SBH with the XR3-RED grip frame was almost unshootable due to the way the grips fit my hand. Now, with the extended and reshaped grips it is an absolute pleasure to shoot, even with stout loads.

Back to the front page. I have picked up a few guns recently that I could build on so I conveniently ended up back in this thread looking for ideas.

Here are a couple quick pics of a Bowen GP44 in 500 Linebaugh. The gun is about as standard as they come for this type of work. in addition to the basic cost of the gun there were charges for: procuring Redhawk barrel Barrel rebore Cut barrel to 4" and install DX sight regulate sights
In the future I may send it back to Bowen to have the cylinder fluted and chamfered. I was very happy to find this one, because of the rebore situation i doubt there will be more coming out of Bowen's shop. Judging by the date on the build sheet, I think this may have been one of the last rebores to come out of Dubell's shop.
