I bought this one second hand. Here's a list of what was done to it. Darned close to what I would have had done myself. Gunsmith- Alan Harton Base gun- Ruger 50th Anniversary 44 Magnum -Douglas barrel 4 5/8" Taylor throated -Action/trigger job -pinned front sight with 2 gold bars -black powder chamfer on cylinder -end play set to minimum -Keith style locking Belt mountain base pin -Hammer and trigger blued-(hammer was reduced by .007 on the sides so it won't scratch against the frame) -Polished Blue I'm unsure who did the Elk Grips, but they are fitted very well.

not all customs are extremely exotic ; some almost appear factory. just finished this one up for a great friend customer- he's normally a pachmyar man so the request for factory wood suprized me gunsmith-Shorty500 base gun -a Ruger SBH that came 5.5 and had previously had front sight moved back to make room for machined in compensator barrel- factory shortened to 3.9 sights- factory with front retained by screw grips- factory wood for XR3RED trigger- set @ 3# base pin- existing Belt Mountain locking pin retained and shortened to allow max stroke ejector rod & housing- shortened factory with offset cut milled to allow base pin removal without removing housing

I like to think of this gun as my tuxedo custom. Nothing flashy, just subtle, understated class in my eyes. Base Gun: Ruger old model 44 flat top Gunsmith: Jim Stroh Barrel: Factory cut and recrowned to 5 1/2" ER: Steel double dowelled Sights: Rear w/o Bowen, front Stroh Base Pin: Belt Mnt #5 locking Action work: Stroh complete accuracy package Finish: Deluxe finish and blue by Stroh Hammer: Clements old model regular framed bisley Grip Frame: Power Custom two piece fit by Stroh.
