Saw a Virginian Dragoon at the gun show yesterday. .44 caliber. 5" ish barrel. not NIB, but good condition. $425.
Not sure if that was a good price, but my gun fund is empty anyway.

From my understanding, If I remember correctly, they got the raw parts from USFA. They did all the fitting, polishing, and finishing themselves. Put there stamp and serial number on the revolvers as the manufacturer, and sold them as a Turnbull firearm. I hope I remembered this correctly. The info comes straight from Turnbull's shop. I try to stop over there at least once a year to look around and talk to the folks there. I too have an open range revolver in .45 lc. Shot it once, cleaned it and now it sits in the safe. Not because I want to keep it pristine, but because I prefer to hunt/carry my .44 special. I'm hoping they will increase in value from what I paid over the years, but one never knows.

That's awesome Mike!!!!!! Well worth the wait I assume. Now you need to get some matching leather for those tow. Might as well get a matching belt while you are at it.

Well, I talked to.......She who must be obeyed.....(that's her Indian name. Mine is one of us, as in one of us needs to clean the barn, or one of us needs to put the horses in ) And I got the go ahead to buy the horse. Here's hoping she did not say yes as an April fool's joke

Thanks Mike. I'm hoping that what she does. We now have 13 horses being that we just sold one one....I'm not sure I want to add one, but a guy needs his own horse....Right? And I did give my horse to my daughter.....just when I had her working great for me....so.....I deserve it!!!.........Right? ?
