I had always wanted a Contender and never got around to it. Then, a few years ago a LGS had one on consignment, a 44mag Super 14 with a 2x T/C scope w/lighted reticle. He said he needed to get $325 for it. Needless to say, it came home with me.

I have contemplated having a second one built. If I did I think a stainless NM Flat Top would be the way I would go.

They are definitely good people at King's, been buying from them for decades.

I had a similar problem with a Flattop 44spl. Eventually the pawl broke while trying to cock the hammer. I sent it back and they ended up replacing the pawl as well as "fixing" the frame where the pawl rides.

We've had one in the family for close to 40 years. As stated above, the trigger is horrible but they can be accurate. In any case they are a bunch of fun.

I picked up a NOS Weaver No. 310 mount. I was surprised to come across one. Now if only I could find one for a Single Six.

Congratulations on your new Maxi. They make great whitetail guns. I have a scoped 10 1/2" and a 7 1/2" with a Delta Point Pro. I hunt with both according to what I expect the range to be. Any possibility of a shot over 75 yards and I take the scoped revolver. Also the scope helps a lot in picking a clear shooting lane through cover, so overall I have more confidence in the scoped gun. However, you have to d/t for a scope mount, but can use only the rear sight screw hole for a red dot mount, so that might be a factor in deciding to scope or dot. I threw a Vortex Venom on just because I had one sitting in a drawer, we'll see how it does. I have a no D&T scope mount for it that I will try also but since I have no spare scopes at the moment the red dot got the nod for now. As far as the iron sights, experience tells me my eyes are not up to the task with the distances that this revolver is meant for.

WITH the shipping box no less. Who put the fiber on the front? The seller installed the fiber optic front but the original came with the deal.
