I use the Barranti Eastern Hunter for my 45 Colt Bisley Hunter, fits the standard Hunters as well and my scoped Bfr. For hunting single actions with Irons the Western Hunter gets the call, and then the hand canon gets the same treatment as a rifle,, naked over the shoulder. But today more and more I prefer to cary all my revolvers in a shouldered rig when I am only carrying one at a time, and find the bandoleer holsters the preferred leather for me. I like the rig more and more of Snyds the more he shows it, but any of these mentioned will last a lifetime, and the Barranti are sure to be in the family for generations. These are hand stitched Signature Series in the Eastern and Western models, not sure he still does them that way, but they offer great protection and comfort carrying. Would u have a pic of the barranti bandoleer on to see how it rides.

i started at 13.5 and went threw 15.5 in ladder. When I stated on low end i was getting soot. Once I hit mid 14 soot went away, at 15 smoke wasn't as bad and it was putting 5 shots in one big hole at 25 yards, about size of silver dollar. At around 15.5 group started opening back up. I will post velocity and pic of groups soon.

Finally got to shoot my 500 linebaugh test loads with us 6 today. I ladders up from 12.5 to 16 grains. My encore really liked the 15 grains. But my question is when shooting big hard cast with all that lube is it suppose to smoke like a muzzle loader. I also loaded some 480 ruger from 12 to 15 grains with jacketed 325 xtp and it didn't smoke at all. But the 500 with the 450 grain Keith bullet from Montana cast with hs6 smoked like a freight train. is that normal. lol

So how about the Missouri 240 grain Keith bullet with the beveled base. Would that be a goid choice to hunt with out of the 629? Will the beveled base take away from the Keith bullet for a hunting bullet.Just looking at them for price where i can do alot of shooting.

So I'm just getting time to load i have looked at several differ sights and all have starting loads for cast around 340 grain but none have any jacketed 325 xtp starting or max loads . Looks like everyone for every weight are saying 12 to 14.5. But all are for cast, and all are from 340 to 380. Just really don't want to blow my gun up. So has anybody here loaded any hs6 and 325 xtp?

So it would be better to stay with bullets from 240 to around 280. also when starting loads should stay at what jacketed bullet loads start at for compatible weights?

I know the smiths can't take the same loads as the ruger single action. But can they shoot some if the 300 grain pills safly? Was looking at some if the Matt's hollow points and some if the Missouri 300 grain coated hammers.(u can get 400 of the coated hammers for 63 dollers). Is the cylinder long enough in the smith to handle the 300? I know all these questions are rookie , but I have never loaded for my Smith, been a long time sence i have loaded for the 44 maggie in general. Also on loads for cast bullets when starting out is it safe to start at same as jacketed loads of same weight, like 300 cast and the 300 xtp loads. Havent loaded cast but in my 480 ruger and starting to for my 500 linbaugh. Is reason I ask .Was looking at load data for hs-6 and h110 on Hodgen web sight for 44 maggie. Also not going to try to load hot for smith prob just somewhere around middle of the road loads and what shoots the best. Just going to be shooting deer hog and bear, not Godzilla save that for the 500 linebaugh. Thanks ahead of time guys.
