Other choices could be Simply Rugged Holster's "chesty puller" or for a belt the "sourdough".

I've had mine for years and have packed it on looong walkin backpack sheep hunts. Moose Hunts, Kodiak Island Deer hunts, etc. It works great carried over the shoulder or around the waist depending on what you are doing/wearing. Here are some pics of my 45 Colt BisHunter with either the 2X Weaver or 4X Leupold scope. Both scopes have the same dimensions. I had it made for the BisHunter but I also used it this fall with my FA 454 with the 4X Leupold. Here it is with the BisHunter Sheep Hunting. It works great around the waist above the backpack belt. Allow for binos on chest and access to shirt pocket holding rangefinder. Works great with my backpack or daypack that has a belt also. Sometimes I pack it over the shoulder with the backpack. Here it is with the FA 454 with Leupold 4X.

I have the same holster as Snyd. The only difference is my SBHBH wears an Ultradot Match dot instead of a scope.
Without a doubt it is a comfortable and durable holster. I actually believe that one of Snyd's early posts was the reason I went seeking out the Wyoming combo holster and I can't say I have been disappointed in the 8 or so years I have had it. It makes an excellent hunting holster for a big heavy gun.
I have another company's more traditional chest type rig and while it works well, when you throw an optic on an already heavy gun the Wyoming combo holster works better. As Snyd said, it does a pretty amazing job of working around pack straps or worn around your waist. The straps are wider than any other holster I have which helps distribute the weight of the revolver. The other thing I like is that the strap is thinner than some of my other holsters. Where this is important is when it is run under your pack straps. The thinner leather does not create a pressure point or hot spot, and can be worn for hours and hours without discomfort.
Adjustment is quick and you can quickly change the length of the strap and ride of the holster if you happen to shed or don layers during your hunt. I can't say the same about my chest type rigs. They take more effort to get into and out of and tend to be a PITA to get the strap lengths correct.
I don't think there is a better hunting holster design out there.

I use the Barranti Eastern Hunter for my 45 Colt Bisley Hunter, fits the standard Hunters as well and my scoped Bfr. For hunting single actions with Irons the Western Hunter gets the call, and then the hand canon gets the same treatment as a rifle,, naked over the shoulder. But today more and more I prefer to cary all my revolvers in a shouldered rig when I am only carrying one at a time, and find the bandoleer holsters the preferred leather for me. I like the rig more and more of Snyds the more he shows it, but any of these mentioned will last a lifetime, and the Barranti are sure to be in the family for generations. These are hand stitched Signature Series in the Eastern and Western models, not sure he still does them that way, but they offer great protection and comfort carrying.

Would u have a pic of the barranti bandoleer on to see how it rides.

I have a few of Doc Barranti's holsters. Quality of them is the best I've ever seen in leather. (And I have a good leather shop here.) I highly recommend the NorthWest Hunter rig. I tried one several years ago at sixshot's house,, and decided I had to have one. It just took me a bit to decide which gun it would be built for. I got mine,, and it has been carried in the field enough to know I'd put it against any other rig out there. All day comfort, the gun stays put, and is easily accessible if needed. I can not recommend Barranti Leather enough. And before anybody bashes me for not recommending these others,, I can say they do look good,,!! But having tinkered in leather work myself off & on since a teenager,, I can say the small details Doc adds make his rigs stand out.

I only have one with the western hunter version using the 5.5" Bisley, I also carried my 6 FA 83 in 454 in it, and snugly can carry the BFR also. I am wearing it a little lower in this picture but the shoulder strap is completely adjustable. I could carry it higher, or on the chest, under the arm, as is the holster you attach to it capable of having a strap that goes around the body to keep the holster tight to you. I use one shoulder harness with the Northwest holster for open sight guns, and simply change to the Northeast holster when I want to carry the scoped hunters. Another choice is the Simply Rugged Chesty Puller, from Rob Leahy, with inexpensive straps to convert any holster to his harness system. Not sure if he offers a holster for the scoped Hunters, but I know his adapter straps will work with any holster I have and convert them to a shoulder or bandoleer stile rig. Like the Barranti holster system, it is totally adjustable for height of carry or from chest position to underarm and anywhere in between. These are a couple of his holsters I have attached and used with his harness system, probably the most versatile holster system for shoulder carry available. The holster on my chest is the same one in the picture above with his Flap Jack attached to it, handy for in-climate weather and still allows the revolver to be drawn with it in place, it simply pivots up and out of the way to clear the revolver. The harness also has the strap attached to hold it tight to the body for times you need to crouch down or crawl through tight quarters, it keeps the rig tight to your body at all times, and ready in an instant. The Barranti Hunter rig hasw the same option for use of the strap to keep it snug and tight once you have decided the position you want the revolver carried at. Below is the same Simply Rugged Chesty harness with an inexpensive Uncle Mikes Cordura holster attached that has been modified to cary any single action up to 6" with the Weigand mini mount and a reflex red dot attached. The Simply Rugged is in my opinion the most adaptable rig made today with his adapters allowing almost any holster made to become a shoulder, chest, or bandoleer rig in seconds. The Barranti Rig probably the most comfortable and elegant but still offers rugged protection for any hunting environment. I thought would just give you a few more situations to think about in your wide selection of fine working rigs these craftsman have provided for hunters today.

Yes. Its basically the most useable holster for my super redhawks or any ruger with detachable rings. Carries great but has the unique ability to carry your pistol with a reddot or scope or just with irons. I have night sights on my srh guns so i can seamlessly switch in africa or alaska. Plus the price is right, quality is tops and you can have it within the week.

I have had nothing but good things to say about it. It's comfortable, secure, carries well and is very versatile. I have used mine with a Burris scope, a Leupold 2x, an Ultradot and Matchdot as well as bare irons. My only (minor) complaint is with the color.
