I was having this same issue. I'm gonna try the bending tweak.

The grip is kinda cool, but I agree on the hammer... WTF were they thinking?
Just a note, my BFR's grips say "Uncle Mike's" on the inside not Pachmyar. I prefer the Hogue SBH grip myself. To each their own.

I've only reloaded .357 twice for my dad's Marlin 1895C. I used W231 and W296. The 231 chronied a low 1,400 fps buy was very accurate. The 296 was blisteringly hoy at just over 2,000 fps but was shooting a little high with looser groups.

Hell... According to another post, all you need is a 9MM. LOL!!! Well in case I forget my lucky rabbit's foot, I'm gonna hedge my bets and pack the 10.

Hey guys. Main concern is Arizona critters. Meaning javelina, coyotes, mountain lions, and sub-500 lbs. black bear. Currently I have Hornady 180gr. XTPs that are rated for 1,176 fps. Good enough?

Nice! Why hasn't Smith built a 10mm 1911 yet! I mean seriously! That would kick ass!

Well, if it's that good it must be worth he expense. I'd never forgive myself if I shot it though.

OK, dammit... So the Bisley is going back to Ruger FOR THE THIRD TIME!!! The first time it came back less crooked. The second time, it had the barrel replaced and the front sight was still crooked. They did send a copy of the target indicating it was shooting straight. Fair enough but the front blade was still crooked!!!
So it's going back again. Maybe it's cosmetic but it's bugging the ever loving crap out of me. Ruger said they may replace it.

Tell me your opinions. I have an RIA that I converted to .460 Rowland and I like it that way. But my anniversary is approaching and I'm considering asking for a nice 1911 in .45 ACP for under a grand. I'll tell you what I've looked at so far.
That new Colt with the blue grips. I like the feel and parkerized finish, not keen on the thumb cut out on the grips or the blue fiber optic.
Springfield Range Officer. Really liked the feel and trigger. The rear sight is annoyingly massive and I would like front end serrations. Maybe the Loaded?
Sig Sauer Scorpion. Kinda ugly but felt nice in the hand. Plus,Sig quality. I hear the mags suck, but quality 1911 mags fall from the sky,so who cares.
Also, who makes reliable, long-lasting, quality 1911s in this price point in your opinion? I'm skeptical of Colt and Kimber due to some less than perfect past experiences with my brother's past 1911s. I'm real curious about Springfield, Sig, and Smith.
All opinions welcome!

Another possibility is that he completely forgot to put powder in one of the cartridges. That usually means a stuck bullet in the barrel. If it is not caught, the next bullet will dismantle a revolver. Somewhere I read that that the pressure doing that is more than a double charge. A double charge (again, from what I have read) is more likely to bend a revolver than dismantle it. That is why I always check the amount of powder in the cases before seating the bullet. I have caught one that had no powder. I am grateful for Trail Boss. For many years (since the mid-1960's) I have been loading 32-20's with small pinches of Bullseye and Red Dot. You could put four (4) charges of those powders in that case of you were careless enough. My standard (factory equivalent) Trail Boss load is about 2/3 full with the bullet seated. Even another possibility is what I read a magazine article several years ago. Seems that a CAS shooter was loading 45 Colt for himself and a friend with a progressive press. He blew up three guns before they found out that a hesitation at one point in the handle stroke would press TWO bullets into the case. The case was big enough to completely swallow both bullets. That blew the revolver just like you described. Wow, that sounds like a possibility. Two bullets in one case... That's incredibly scary.

Damn Magnumwheelman, I want a 10mm Magnum! I spoke to Jack last week and he felt it was certainly possible. But due to the extreme pressures, he felt the only right way to do it was either a gas system, or a roller delay blowback, and would require a new design from scratch. So, I am not gonna try that. Dare to dream, I guess.
If love to see a return of the 10mm Magnum.
