I think a Color Case Hardened, Blue steel 4 5/8 Bisley Blackhawk in .45 Colt is a perfect idea. I would bet they would sell our production quickly!

Micarta is just so......so.......so synthetic! Bob Wright I have to agree. I love stag, but there is nothing like a gorgeous select walnut burl!

I try to stay positive on the forum and admit it isn't always easy. But no way would I have posted that about John Taffin. I think he was referring to himself when he said posthumously.

I admire John Linebaugh. He stuck his neck out and bet the farm on it. He spent 36 years building close to perfect six guns, and has developed a sterling reputation, and a loyal following. As for the you fellows who find better bargains and superior work at JRH and Harton, et al., go to them. They are world class gunsmiths. I am planning some JRH work now. Just because I cannot afford a Linebaugh does not denigrate his work. I do, however, notice it is always the same members who have a "bone to pick" with certain builders. My question is, Don't you ever tire of showing your ass in a Public Forum? This is supposed to be friendly placed for Six Gun Enthusiasts. Have a nice Day.

That is a truly fitting epitaph for Mr. Elmer Keith. Thank You for posting it. This is the first time I have seen it.

O.K. I am going with the .480/.475L. One last question: Is the BFR easier om the middle knuckle" My .45 Ruger Bisley, shooting heavy for caliber bullets punishes my middle knuckle. I see that Magnum research now has a Bisley style grip frame available. Does anyone know how much $ that option is?

I am going to order a Super Blackhawk Bisley. I already have a Blackhawk, 7.5", .45 Colt, and a 5.5" Bisley .45 Colt. A pair of S&W 29 and 629 6"+ 8 3/8" round out my bigger bore revolvers. I rarely, if ever hunt anymore. I just love hand loading my revolver cartridges. I have had a so much fun with the variety of .45 Colt loads- I love this caliber. The trouble is I am looking for the fun factor in a Big Bore. I have shot the .454 in the past and didn't find it too overly powerful to handle. My concern is cost of reloading- brass case life from crimping and such. I realize one does not go out and shoot 100 rounds a day with these big guys. I would appreciate any and all comments on these cartridges in the Ruger Platform. Thanks, in advance! p.s You never know, I may go out after Whitetails or apply for a Black Bear permit in the future.

I honestly would be afraid of it. It is beautiful, but way too powerful for an uninitiated shooter like me.

A sad day for all six gunners Mr. Jurras has joined the ranks of Keith, Skelton, Ruger, Colt and so many other fine Sportsmen who have now travelled the path to the Lord. I pray there is a small Gunsmith Shop in Heaven, with a big woodstove, plenty of coffee and cigars, and a bunch of wood chairs where all the "old coots" can get together and "yarn" for eternity!
