My goodness, that is about as perfect an example as a revolver can be. I love it!

If I am not mistaken, a fellow on a Facebook revolver group just post that he just bought this one, thinking he had a special "find". He was quickly advised otherwise.

May I please ask who makes that holster? I haven't been able to find a decent shuck for my 69.

Have the 4.2" and it's a great revolver. Brian Pearce load of 8.5 grains of Power Pistol that is pleasingly accurate and 950fps, 17-18K on pressure. My 69 loves it.

For an easy packing trail gun I trend towards my Redhawk 4" in .45 Colt or my Bisley Blackhawk 4 5/8" .45 Colt. I do feel a little more secure with my Super Blackhawk Bisley .480. I am sure any of these provide protection from a Michigan black bear.

I had Jack Huntington at JRH add a 4 5'8 octagonal barrel to my .45 Colt New Model Bisley Blackhawk. He also added a custom front interchangeable sight with his custom base, and added custom front base. It was completed much faster than I had hoped for, and his work is awesome. It was also relatively inexpensive, and worth every cent. The revolver I refer to is shown in my avatar.

I ordered my .475 Linebaugh Bisley BFR from the custom shop at this time last tear. They added a 6"barrel, dehorned and polished all edges, did a nice trigger job, added perfectly fit micarta grips, and engraved- not toll marked-the caliber, etc. It took about 8 weeks to get it to my FFL. It is as nice as I had prayed it would be. The cost was just a bit over $1,700.at that time. When ordering the Gentleman at Magnum research told me the custom shop was run by one man who takes his trade so seriously that you can describe your revolver to him 2 years later and he can tell you how he built that particular revolver. I cannot overstate how well this revolver shoots. It is as smooth as a newborns backside. Good Luck with your order..

It is one of the best trail guns I have ever owned. Whoever buys this is in for a treat.

Mr. Taffin, Congratulations on a fine job with your Book of the .45 caliber. I received my copy several weeks ago, and I must say it is a pleasure to read. I am certain I will wear this one out over many an evening. Thank you, again.

I love my 4 5/8" .480 SBH so much I ordered a 6" BFR Bisley in .475 Linebaugh. I have big paws and the BFR handles recoil much more comfortably. I can shoot the .480 all day but I limit myself to 10-12 rounds per session with the .475 sue to Mr. Linebaugh's suggestion. Both calibers are a blast, the .475L even more so than the .480. I do handload everything, but the young man may eventually end up making his own fodder in a few years. A consideration perhaps.

Mr. Huntington did his action job on my .45 Bisley Blackhawk. I am of the opinion it is the smoothest, cleanest trigger I have ever felt. I honestly didn't know how nice an expert gunsmith could make one. I am now educated. Holy Cow! I would love to see some pictures when you get them back. It should be a fun winter for you anticipating your new toys!

That looks great. Id like to know more about the JRH front sight base. How are the blades held in? What type blades fit the base? Im looking tomhave something similar don to my SBH Bisley 480 Access pin in front base. I have not as yet measured the width of the front blade. Unfortunately I had a hernia the day after it arrived. I still have to call Mr. Huntington to ask what he has available, but I am going to wait until I shoot it with various loads Being 67 years old and retired is a blast, except for the hernia!

Thank you for the positive comments. I could not be more pleased with Mr. Huntington's work. The fact that he is such a gentleman was icing on the cake.
