Haven't shot it yet but hammer reach doesn't seem extreme.

I recently found out the Bisley gripped BFR was available and not a custom order feature. Picked this up from Gun Broker, chambered in 500 JRH, 5 1/2" barrel. 2 lb 14 oz trigger pull with .0025 cylinder gap.

I need help posting photos from my android phone to the forum. I did use photobucket but that's ended, now who to use. I've tried imgur and others and all I get is links to my photos in my posts, not direct picture views. Is it possible for my pics to show up on the post instead of a link to it? Thanks, John.

Now we need the specs of the other 50 cal guns to get things rolling. What do you guys think?
I think we need the specs from other guys who have these calibers and specific cylinder lengths from those folks who chamber these in their products. I'm sure several people here have these...............
No interest in a 50 cal 640 style i guess, I have a 500 JRH BFR on order and should have it by next week, will get it's specs posted when I get it.

I had posted in a separate topic about wanting/needing a 640 style .500 bullet. It would be best if it would work in the 500 S&W Magnum, 500 JRH, 500 WE, and the 500 Special. I would be looking for a target weight of 420 gr with the largest hp pin. I measured my S&W 500 cylinder, it's 2.300 and the case rims are not recessed into it. Specs show a max case length of 1.625". Now we need the specs of the other 50 cal guns to get things rolling. What do you guys think?

Measured my S&W 500 cylinder, it's 2.300 and the case rims are not recessed into it. Specs show a max case length of 1.625". I would be looking at a target weight of 430-450 grs with the largest hp pin. I think the limiting factor will be nose length for the BFR 500 JRH and Freedom 500 WE having much shorter cylinders. If the nose length will work in those guns, it should easily fit the 500 Smith. I don't have those specs, but hope to purchase a Bfr 500 JRH in the future and would like the bullet to fit it. Hopefully someone can provide those measurements.

I don't know if it's been done but I am looking for the 640 style hp mold in .500-.502". I love the .475 385 gr hp I use in my 480 ruger and wanted a similar bullet for my 500 s&w magnum. I have the John Ross 5" bbl no brake version and would like to use this hp bullet at reduced (1100fps) velocity cast of softer alloy. Has this design been made in the past? Would also make a good bullet for the smaller .500 guns. Thanks, John.

Received my mold today, looks great as do the other brass beauties I have from Miha. Will get casting soon and try to get a load for the 357 Max, PA whitetail season starts in 4 weeks.

I'm getting ready to work up loads for my 10 1/2" Ruger 357 Max and have a question on OAL. I'm using a Hornady 180 gr XTP bullet with the 2 crimp grooves, which crimp groove should i use? Holding the case and bullet against the side of the cylinder it looks like the lower crimp groove will work but it puts the bullet right at the edge of the cylinder. I see loads listing 20 gr of IMR 4227 as a max load but with which crimp groove? I was going to seat a bullet in the case and see if it clears the cylinder but thought I would ask here first.
